Here are a few suggestions:
reboot your iPad
close out all other apps
make sure the storage on your iPad is not full. You can check this by going into settings; general; storage & iCloud use.
if and only if you have recently saved to the cloud then you can try deleting and reinstalling sims FP.
It may also be your wifi so you can try going somewhere with public wifi to see if that helps.
