Re: Sims 2 Error

@Ra1nbowBlendI recommend editing your message to remove references to that website in your post and the title because it shouldn't be talked about here.

As for your DirectX 9 error, let me know if you have used Graphics Rules Maker. If yes, then which settings did you apply. Also let me know if you have tried running the game in windowed mode.

  • Hi, thank you for the recommendation, I edited my original post. To answer your other statement, I have used Graphic Rules Maker and have had the same pop-up as before. I used the auto-detect option which disabled texture memory estimate adjustment as well as enabled driver's memory manager. Also, I can't figure out how to run the game in windowed mode. Thank you for the response.

@Ra1nbowBlend  To run the game in Windowed mode, right-click on your Sims 2 shortcut on your desktop, and go to PropertiesAt the end of the Target line, add one space and then -w so in the end it looks like "...exe" -w

Save those changes and try to run the game again.

  • Unfortunately, no luck with that either, still got the same pop-up message.

  • @Ra1nbowBlend , did you install the game from a website or a disk? If you installed the game from a website, that is probably a pirated copy and will not work properly at all after a while. While we understand the game is no longer sold on Origin or digitally (except for the Mac version), the only legal way to play the game currently is to find copies of the disks either on Amazon, E-Bay, game stores that sell used games or thrift shops. You will also need an external disk drive if your computer does not have one.
