Re: Can I install ts3 base game & showtime Katy Perry edition on my 64 but Mac Mojav

@tay13b  Nope, sorry, the 64-bit version is only available as a digital download through Origin.  Since you're running Mojave, you can't even use discs to play the 32-bit version: Mojave will fail to authenticate the discs.

What you could do is contact EA customer support and ask that the "entitlement," as it's called, for the 64-bit version of Showtime be added to your account.  I'm not sure support can specifically add the KP version of Showtime, but the standard version should work fine.  You may have to ask more than one support rep though; some of them don't recognize that the KP version of Showtime is just a premium edition, not a separate pack.

I think the standard edition would work fine through origin but since the kp edition is not on origin I was going to install the base game and kp showtime without origin. Would an employee be able to offer me the kp edition?

  • @tay13b  I don't think the KP version of Showtime can be granted anymore, but you can always ask.  Regardless of the outcome, the 32-bit version wouldn't be removed from your account, so there's nothing to lose.  I know for sure that some players have been told they can't get the KP version, but I'm not sure whether that's the official answer or just a customer support rep not knowing how to do it.

Would ts3 base game and kp showtime work on a 32 bit computer? The old fashioned way

I’m not sure where to look for a 32 bit computer

  • @tay13b  You don't want an actual 32-bit computer.  Macs have been 64-bit for around 15 years, although they can still run 32-bit apps (like Sims 3) as long as the operating system is Mojave or earlier.  Windows 10 still runs 32-bit apps fine, but you'd want one with at least 8 GB memory; a 32-bit OS can only address 4 GB RAM no matter how much is installed.

Again, the issue here is that you can't use discs to install Sims 3 on your Mac because the operating system will not authenticate them.  You'd need a Mac running Yosemite (OS X 10.10) or earlier to play via disc.  Or, since your computer runs Mojave, you could install the 32-bit version of Sims 3 and play that instead, with all its limitations.  Or you could get a computer that runs Windows 10 and install from your discs.
