After further investigation, there's another issue. There's no way to make a closed poly relationship out of CAS, maybe at all? (ex. throuple) because if the sim has closed boundaries, it will always be cheating. This means people can come into the relationship when you only want the throuple.
I suspect re. the closed polycule/throuple/etc. that this might be a limitation of how the romantic boundaries feature has been implemented, unfortunately - I would suggest maybe sending your feedback to the feedback and suggestions forums!

agree, but the original issue is still an issue. engaged sims experience jealousy.
Yes - hopefully, the Sims team will include fixing this in the next patch (which hopefully won't be long now, for all these fixes).
