Is your Sim living in an apartment or house ? Are you using any mods in your game ?

    you can try adding the adoption person to your family, then delete through household manager. Maybe you can then try adoption again.

    Hello I'm having the same issue, adoption lady has arrived but no sign of any carrier or pet. Clicked end adoption evaluation several times and nothing happens. Is there a solution to this? I have no mods installed or enabled and game is fully updated. I've even closed the game and repaired it through origin but made no difference.

    Hi crinrict I've tried adding the adoption lady to my family, then deleted her through manage worlds and editing the household but when I try to adopt again the option is faint/ can't select it and says there's already an adoption event in progress, can we try anything else? Thanks

    Except loading an older save, nope, sorry.

    I've tried a save where this worked but there might be multiple issues. You an try waiting some to see if it resolves itself.

    I'm having the same issue. Adoption lady comes with no dog/cat and stands outside the door even after ending the adoption evaluation. Very frustrating. Any solution found yet? Software/game is all up-to-date and even did the 'repair game' thing with no result.

    I was having this same issue.  Realised that I'd just recently locked my front door to household only (as I had random unknown sims just wandering in).  Once I unlocked the door, the adoption agent came in and I had no more issues with the adoption process.  Having issues now I've adopted but that's a separate issue I guess!  Hope this helps

    I had this issue too, everything's all updated and the doors were unlocked. The adoption agent just stood around talking, and was embarrassed for some reason.
    Could time of day be affecting it? Both the failed attempts were pretty late in the evening, my last successful one was around dinnertime.
    I ended up adopting a stray after the second failure.
