I noticed it was fixed before yesterday’s patch; I commented on it in a Rags to Riches video I recently did. I expect it was fixed the Get Famous update, as I hadn’t noticed it was fixed before then.

I agree that it was fixed in the Get Famous patch, November 2018. Prior to that patch, there was no option for me to look for frogs at any pond. Once the GF patch was installed (not sure if it was with the original release patch or the one afterward) - the option reappeared.
In my game, base version +RG/No cc or mods-never used - Version 1.47.51.1020 has the option to catch frogs in ponds.
