I have exit the game without saving. When I loaded the old save once again, five tombstones of those Sims have appeared in my household inventory, although it was an old save before their deaths occured, and they were still alive in that save of course. I can't destroy those tombstones, can't sell them, can't bulldoze them, they will remain forever in my household inventory. I have deleted the cache, but the tombstones are still there.What do you expect to see? Just wanted to say that I reported this years ago because it kept happening with my vampires. Only after one of the recent updates the game's forgotten who the tombstones belong to.Basically when a sim is dying, while the death animation is playing exit to the main menu and reload your last save for that family. Then a tombstone for the dying, but now still alive sim will appear in your active family's inventory.And when you do that a few times you can make stuff like this (these 5 vampire tombstones are all for the same sim):I submitted my save back then, but was told they couldn't reproduce it, which to me is weird because it happens for me every single time I do it.

I chose the option to return to main menu from the popup you receive when it's game over (not save and go to map view which is other option) then reloaded save to have the tombstone appear in the inventory. I didn't purposefully return to the main menu during the process, I went through the official path.

My sim visited her parents house, and I thought it was odd that her mother had advanced to elder and her father was still an adult, so I used testingcheats to modify him in Create-A-Sim to make him an elder. What I didn't know was that this would preserve his age progress and he died instantly. Not wanting him to die before his time, I reloaded to before I had aged him up this way and aged him up in a different way without using cheats instead. But afterwards, even though I had reloaded to before her father died, my sim had a gravestone in her family inventory for him. This objects seems impossible to delete or sell, and I do not want it in my game as the sim it supposedly is for is still very much alive. I want to get rid of this gravestone, but I am also concerned about this bug that generates gravestones for living sims if you reload to prevent their deaths. I've attached screenshots of the tombstone in her inventory and the entry for him still fully alive in her relationship panel.

Do you have a backup you could load ? I don't think there's a way to purge the household inventory.

Do you have a backup you could load ? I don't think there's a way to purge the household inventory.

Yes, it just happened in that one saved game. I thought it might be interesting for the developers, it is a bit strange how an old existing saved game could be changed when the game progress was not saved.

Do you still have backups ? They would probably need a save from before it happen to replicate how it happens.

Hi! I only have the save which includes this problem, if that's helpful, I can try to send it. I don't have a backup of the save from before this problem happened, so it can't be replicated.

Could you just send the whole saves folders. Maybe for the devs even the broken save is useful.

Check out my Rose Blossoms character, it took me over half a year to create her through the game, I believe she deserves her own dedicated game pack, or at least to be favorited by Maxis. 😉
In her household inventory, you should find five tombstones of the still living Sims.

What is your current game version number? BASE: 1.47.51.1020 (64 bit)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All DLC, except for Get Famous
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Need an active family with close vampire friend/family/lover (vampire don't need to,or probably shouldn't be part of the family). Need to have one of these normal sims on an active lot other than the home lot together with their vampire buddy. Let the vampire ("accidentally" of course) die to sun exposure. Then before the death animation is complete (while the vampire is still on fire, before it collapses), quit to the main menu without saving and reload the save before the death.
What happens when the bug occurs? The dying vampire's gravestone will appear in the household inventory despite the reload. I've had this happen 2 of the 3 times the same (thin skinned) vampire was out in the sun a few seconds too long.
What do you expect to see? Shouldn't get a gravestone for someone who's alive, vampire or not, when you savescum to bring them back to life. Meaning, a death should not be registered when you reload to a point in time before the death.

I've found this is not 100% reliably reproducible. It seems that if the animation is allowed to play until Grim shows up to collect, the gravestone do not appear in the inventory on reload, but I've not tried testing it extensively.

It does seem that you do not get another gravestone once one exists for the dead vampire (or at least not once you have it in the inventory), but again, it doesn't seem to happen every time.

Also, this is by far not a big deal. It's just a bit weird that you get a gravestone for someone who's alive.
