Re: Online career moves dont level up

@EA_Mako I appreciated you responding last time, and would hope you will respond this time as well. 

The XP for moves in Online Career is barely moving up at all. After +100 fights my fighter is still on lvl 2 jab. 

Good thing that there has been some progress but this whole situation is getting pretty crazy. We're 3 months in and these bug aren't minor ones. They prevent people from actually playing the game the way it was promised. 

Is this snail-xp thing intentional or is it another major bug?

Also, combos still aren't working. And to be clear this isn't just a few players that are experiencing. Try it out for yourself in Online Career!

Last time you said there was no word on any fixes for this. Could we PLEASE get an update on this. We have been VERY patient with this and so some communication would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @BKbajen,

    I've not seen anything to indicate the rate of xp gain is bugged at the moment, though that's quite the grind as you've described it.

    We don't currently have plans to change how fast xp is gained, but I'll happily be sure that feedback is passed along.

    As soon as I have any word or information regarding a next update and what that will contain, I'll be sure to share it.

    Just to be clear, I am not talking about evolution points, that is working the way it should. 

    I am talking about the XP to level up your moves. That has definitely changed. 

    Would you be able to please confirm if the rate of which moves points are gained has been changed by the developers intentionally? Because if it hasn't been changed on purpose it is definitely  a bug. 

    I agree that it should be a grind, but with this rate it doesn't make any sense.

    I dont know if you play this game yourself, but if you did you would notice the same change in Online Career.

  • So, are you admitting that nobody from EA (including yourself) has actually ever played this game?  You don't seem to know very much at all for a PR person.  I had heard horrible things about 

    EA games, but thought I'd give this one a try since I love MMA.  It seems the horrible things I heard were true.  I hope you can fix the xp probems and the ground moves not levelling up problems.  Your game is broken.

    I appreciate you passing along the info to the team. 

    But at this point it is simply not good enough. We have all been very patient with the major bugs and flaws that have made essential parts of this game unplayable. 

    The cycle that we're in now is about 1-3 months where the first part consists of us simply trying to convince you that there is in fact a problem with the game, not just something "some players are experiencing". The communication has at times been very poor and the players are simply receiving the silent treatment, which has been both very frustrating and easily avoidable. That said I do appreciate the recent increase in the response rate from you.
    The second part is "oh ok, we'll look into it but we can't tell you when that will be". Then weeks or even months pass by, a patch is released but it doesn't fully solve these major issues and then it's back to square one with us desperately trying to convince you that it hasn't been fixed. 

    How long is fair to have us waiting before we can actually play this game in full? Another 3 months? A year? 

    I understand that you are not in a position where you can say "on this date at this hour everything will be fixed", but a scenario where the team would actually focus and prioritise fixing these things and say "listen, we need about 1-2 weeks (or whatever time) to fix this with a new patch", and then have someone from EA actually check that it does work before released to the public (which would require them actually playing the game) isn't a unreasonable request, I think. In fact, I believe you owe us that much at this point. 

    Is that fair and doable you think, @EA_Mako ?

    Any updates on this? I understand that you single handed can't decide when things will be fixed, but the communication is not very good about this. 

    The moves STILL dont work, and on top of that the backpack move is no longer working. 

    The point system for upgrading moves is still broken, as previously shown in the video. 

    The fact that we are over 3 months in and this mode STILL isn't working is shocking, to be honest. 

    We want some answers on what's being done to fix this and when we can expect to play the game we paid for. 

    Your answer would be appreciated, @EA_Mako so please don't give us the silent treatment!

  • I agree with the above poster.  There have been lots of posts explaining the problems, but any response from EA is lacking.  From my limited experience, the moves actually work as intended if you have a character that is Prestige 3 or higher.  They barely upgrade on a move by move basis any more as reported previously.  Is this intentional?  Is the goal to get a Prestige 3 character first?  Is this not the goal and something wrong?  Has everybody at EA already been laid off?  How about some response that shows at least 5 minutes of thought has been put into it.  You should be embarrassed.  You should apologize.  You should take efforts to correct the problems.

    So since @EA_Mako once again has decided to go mute and ignore all of us here, not giving any updates of any sort, I managed to get a hold of a someone through the EA chat and can share this with you: 

    An EA representative named Shivam had this to say about the current situation about the Online Career: 

    Shivam: "So I got an update our team is working on a fix at the moment and would be back soon so do not worry we would fix it in no time and the updates would be shared soon via twitter" 

    Me: "So when? This week?"

    Shivam: "Possibily yes but they haven't shared the deadline".

    Me: "So when is the latest they will fix this? And what specifically will they fix?"

    Shivam: "They are working to figure out why the combos not working specoally the kick combos"

    That is the latest information I have about this. No idea how trustworthy this EA representative is, but at least it's something and not complete silence.

    By the way, it was over 2 weeks ago since @EA_Mako graced us with his presence here. Meanwhile he is active almost every day, answering other posts several times a day.
    Meaning that he simply chooses not to bother answering questions here.

    So it seems as if Shivam from the EA chat was telling the truth! 

    After nearly 1/3 of a year, and the new patch, the Online Career mode seems to actually be working! 

    The moves upgrade, the moves xp has a new system which I think is much improved and yes, even the combos seem to be working. 

    Just too bad that it took so long and the communication from EA was slim to none, and as a result very few people seem to be playing this mode now. 

    But still! Finally!

  • Thanks for the effort in fixing online career mode.  I will start playing again.  I'm excited to see some ground moves unlocking now.
