Yes, I can water it manually, it's just not watered automatically by the Hydroponic Planter. It's a similar problem with the vertical planters. If you have vertical planters and ground planters and click on the ground ones to "Super-Sell" or "Sell All", it'll sell all of the ground planters but not the vertical. If you do the same on the vertical, it'll sell all of the verticals but not the ground ones.
Yes, it's one of the alien plants. Haven't gotten around to testing the others yet.

I just checked them, the other two alien plants are not watered by the hydroponic planter either. That's the Quill Fruit, Fang Flower, and Glow Orb. They DO need water. I've always watered and fertilized them in the past. I can water them now, it's just not done automatically by the auto-watering hydroponic planter.
Maybe I'll check the vampire and island living plants also.

I checked the Pineapple, Coconut, Wolfsbane, Garlic, and Plasma Tree and they are all auto-watered.
For some reason I can no longer plant the Kava root at all.
Quite a few of the harvestables you can’t use in the hydroponic planters — I don’t think carrots or potatoes work either. I assumed it was a quirk like how some of the plants are “scared of height” and won’t work in the vertical?
