@ledors06 Sounds like the Caring is Sharing N.A.P. is activated. In which case it's meant to happen.

The behavior of NPCs stealing from the active lot is due to the “Sharing is Caring” Neighborhood Action Plan.

You can check the active policies within your neighborhood by either clicking on a mailbox or a voting board (if there is one in the neighborhood).

If Sharing is Caring is not an active policy within your sim’s neighborhood, then the issue would be a bug that is related to N.A.P.s. Currently, there is a bug that causes NPCs to posses policy-traits globally. This means that they will not only abide by the rules of the active neighborhood, but all active policies in every neighborhood. More often than not, another neighborhood might have Sharing is Caring and it is causing NPCs to “steal” from your lot.

    Edit: phrasing and word uses.

Soooo the unfortunate thing is you can't really easily turn it off if it's truly just the bug, but it might be working as intended, though how it's intended is....something.  You can only turn it off if it's not bug related.

So- go to your neighborhood voting board/your mailbox.  With testingcheats on, you can shift-click on the mailbox, and select the "instant repeal" of the "Sharing is Caring," NAP.  If it was in your neighborhood, then you can go on and play as normal and no one should keep stealing stuff....in your home neighborhood.  Theoretically.

HOWEVER- ALL neighborhoods also have NAPs, and the worst part of the bugs of Eco Lifestyle is that NPCs can *potentially* get their NAP behavior from every single neighborhood.  If the above steps didn't work, you'll unfortunately need a sim living in every single neighborhood and remove every single instance of Sharing is Caring.  The safest way to make sure you don't accidentally get the NAP is to Instant-Enact 4 different NAPS, as from what I've seen NPCS won't start the repeal process autonomously.  I wish that you could cheat the NAPS for every single neighborhood without living in it, but w/e. RN you cannot.

Part 3, if you're like me and not up for that, ban visitors from your house and don't travel when you play.  I've spent a lot of time building in the meanwhile when I do get on.

this bug is extended to every NAP, and that's prolly why it's taking them time to fix it fully.  They don't want to release a patch that should fix it only to break it open worse, right?

  • @verfens Thanks a lot !

Seems overly complicated tho, I just hope they fix / balance it. You should have to choose what you want to share.

Especially when AI sims just steal stuff and put them in their inventory, not replacing anywhere ever
