Re: Auto ban logic needs fixing due to evos

I raised the case on Saturday

Just raised a new one:

Hi there, I was banned from the transfer market just under a week ago. I raised case #159209752 thinking this was just a simple mistake and would quickly be overturned. I received an email today saying the decision taken was correct an I was apparently coins selling.

I bought 8 non rare gold cards in anticipation for a cam evolution. The prices were higher than they usually are because lots of people were pre-emptively getting cards to use in the evolution so demand was starting to overtake supply on the market. People do this kind of thing in the market all the time in anticipation of totw, rttko, rttf, otw... How is this any different? I have played ultimate team since 2017 and never had a transfer ban or sold coins. Why did I instantly get a ban with no warning or even communication before? This is not acceptable when I've paid for the ultimate edition every year for at least the last 4 years. I hope you will show some understanding and rectify this as a lot of loyal players are getting the same issue.

Evolutions was added this year by you and it seems as though you did not anticipate the affect it would have on the transfer market. The most popular cards meeting the evolutions criteria are going to max bin after minutes of the evolution been released. All people are doing is paying current market prices for these cards. People selling coins should be easy to spot but please look at my account and you will see I'm playing the game fairly.

I hope common sense will prevail here.

@pesphill85 I totally get what you're saying. And, you're right that people take gambles on what cards might get a promo or be needed for an SBC, or whatever. But, that information is based on leaked information and it seems like its cheating because you know something that someone else doesn't and are exploiting it.

I think people are upset because EA are just starting to take action where perhaps before they didn't and the community thought it was ok to do so.

I'm not EA, so this is all speculation.

I'm sorry this has happened to you. And you're right, others definitely deserve it more than you and we have been asking EA to ban players who promote coins but it hasn't happened yet.

I hope they decide to show mercy and overturn your ban.

    Good luck!

@Izzy_FUT_DubsAgain this is just a cop out. There is loads of people banned for all type of things. Selling cards needed for EVO. Managers that go up. You can't ban people on speculation that consumer rights violation. Its why my letter of dispute reached EA legal office today. Yet everu EA Youtube partner has a coin purchasing advertisement. Also all these Traders and discord for traders and youtube traders I wonder if this keep blowing up if they start becoming Liable as well. I couldn't imagine if my son was to follow some youtuber advice on trading and seeing him banned for coin selling or buying falsley. The logic needs fixed because it is falsley banning loads of people and thats a problem.

Without being rude to you directly. That is such a poor answer. Let me explain why.

I open a FIFA pack, because I want to make coins or get lucky and pack a promo player to use. I open the pack and I get a Gvardiol, I check his transfer price, he's going for 10,000 coins due to EA releasing an evolution slot that he fits in. I sell him for 10,000 coins. Next thing I'm banned because EA automatically detects me as potentially coin transferring (for selling a card for way more than it's worth).

This is why people are mad, EA are releasing a game mode that is causing cards to spike, and then banning people for buying and selling them!

Also, the fact your blaming Players for acting on leaks when the leaks are coming from within EA HQ is humiliating. Have some decorum.

I'd say trading, making coins is a huge part of this game and has been for ten years, it's no different to stocks and shares and buying and selling. A lot of people play the game solely as they enjoy that side of it. And EAFC know this and enable this. It's obvious when someone is coin selling/transferring. I've seen it hundreds of time where people are paying 300k more for cards than they are worth.

  • Let's be honest about leaks... They are done on purpose as free marketing for the game. If they get influencers "leaking" information, people get notifications from YouTube, twitter, tiktok... and go into the game to trade/buy points to open packs with. It feels like EA are biting the hands that feed them

@kenkaniff6 From my understanding, the YouTubers and streamers who actively promote coin selling, are not EA partners. They might have been once upon a time but they have since broken that partnership with EA when they chose to promote coin-selling websites.

I would agree with you that there seems to be a ban system that needs to do better work. It's not fair to those who have packed someone and sold at market price, then get banned. It's not fair to those who want to do the player's Evo and get banned from having bought that player. It's not fair for people to naturally take a gamble on a player having future Evo's and luckily guessing the best player who will perfectly fit that Evo.

However, I do understand a ban system that bans players from exploiting the game. If you have leaked information on an Evo coming out and buying 100 of that player to make a profit on it, then you do deserve to be banned because that is not taking a gamble -- such as buying those players right before the Evo comes out.

@pesphill85 If that were true, no one would've gotten banned for exploiting that knowledge. But, I get what you're saying. I think if EA wanted to keep it from being leaked they have to do a better job of hiding their content.

That was largely a good answer. I'm not sure it's the consumers fault if EA employees are leaking information? But anyway.

The ban system isn't targeting people taking advantage of leakers, it's targeting people like me who bought ONE Evo card for 10,00 for me to upgrade and use. And for selling ONE Evo card I had in the club who's price spiked.

That was one week ago, I'm still no clearer to any resolution and live chat has told me my case has been declined even though it is still showing as in progress.

I'm yet to receive any emails or contact about why.

What can we do about this? Are EA looking into it at least?

Out of curiosity, what is your advice to me who wants to upgrade Alessandrini who is currently going for around 9,000 coins. (Last week only 500). Am I going to be punished?

  • Live chat and mail cases are only bots.

You cant speak to an employee. Its hopeless.

You will never get your coins back NEVER!

  • Coins back? Weird I still have all my coins but now I have no access to the transfer market

Got a response back from my 2nd case on Friday. Same automated answer as the first one. I'll leave it there for now as I've seen in other posts, plenty of people will still be raising cases and some are even opening up legal proceedings so I imagine EA will soon get jolted into action.

How can the company justify making this edition the most expensive ever? They are saving millions by dropping the fifa partnership and said that the savings would be reinvested into improving the game. The management of this issue is dreadful for a company as big as EA.

Many hundreds of players have paid top dollar for a 12 month game and are now unable to complete a lot of the challenges because they can't buy players. There definitely needs to be significant compensation given out once all this is sorted. Some of the tradable players I have are now worth less than half of what I paid. I've been unable to sell so will make further losses whenever I get access to the market again...

  • I will make it simple for everyone here . They dont care , and most will but next year regardless of this issue , too much addiction for some to walk away its sad

  • Wonder why none from the ea team responded to this actually ! We need an update on this subject !

I've seen a couple of people in another thread mention that they have had their bans lifted so I raised another case just now in the hope that they have started looking into this issue properly and have humans investigating peoples accounts instead of bots making pre-programmed decisions.

    Let's see what happens...

@mush182 I would totally avoid buying and or selling these maxed price players until we know for sure that the system in place has been revised. I'll be honest in saying, I don't see many of these Evos as worth doing, and a lot of times there are close seconds or thirds that aren't maxed price that you could do.

How come there is still no fix for this problem?

I had contact with live chat for the 12 time!
Was thinking, well some players had their coins back... Maybe it works this time?

It kept saying i have a problem with a ban! Im not even banned, are we even talking to humans or just bots?

    Then he said:

We have done everything we can, unfortunately the TOS team have judged your case 3 times and have declined it.
After 3 times the TOS team has removed the rights for us to do something about your case.

So.... Your telling me there is nothing to be done about this situation?
    EA What is this?

Can someone give me a direct link to talk to a real person of EA?

@EricSeppIf your case has been declined then that's it. There is nothing else that you can do. :/

I think you need a new job mate. Five of us have had cases declined. All you do is open a new one until you speak to someone who understands what your asking. Five of us have now been unbanned.

Also, as for your explanation on not letting people trade based on ideas/plans/gut feeling is absolutely ridiculous.

Data mining is a lie. It was released two years ago an EA employee was taking money to place icons in people's teams haha.
