[FIXED] [HR] Horse Walking on Back Legs After Age Up Treat

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.99.264.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansions, all game packs except Batuu, all stuff packs
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a foal, feed it an age up treat, watch it walk around like a people
What happens when the bug occurs? Horse walks on hind legs any time it moves
What do you expect to see? The horse walking like a horse. On all 4 feet.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Downloaded the new Horse Ranch pack

I have 3 horses in the family. Only the horse I used the age up treat on is glitching this way. It is whenever it walks, including when my Sim rides her. Took out mods and CC and still occurs. Tried another household with a foal and the same thing happened with the age up treat. Getting messages that the foal is new and just born and will figure things out in a few days, even though it's been a full sim day since it was given the age up treat and 2 since it was born.

Dazed newborn Foals that are fed an Age-Up Treat now become adults who maintain their “Horseness” when going on rides so they don’t walk upright like Sims.

Fixed in Patch 1.99

@preciouskittenn Did you remove your mods and then age the horse up again or just remove the mods and it was still glitched ?

After I saw the thread about mods causing problems I removed them and tried again with a different household with the same results.
i did not have the mods listed in that thread (LittleMsSam). Cleared the thumbcache, repaired the game just in case, still the same

@preciouskittenn Could you test if this also happens to you in a CAS created/adopted foal ? I currently don't have the time to test a born foal so I only tried a CAS made one and that was fine.

AFAIK, new born ones are a bit different from CAS created one so it might only occur if the foal is still in the very early stages.

Was your other households foal also born ?

Sounds like the same bug onlyabidoang had in early access. He posted a video of it on his Twitter. It happens under a very specific condition: when you feed a newly born foal an age up treat while it still has the dazed moodlet from being born. Then upon aging up it bugs out and walks on its hind legs. I'm not sure if it continued to do that all the time though.

Just tested it with a CAS foal, and a rescued foal it works as normal with those. A Reddit thread I found also mentioned they've had it with bred horses but not in game foals as well

What if my horse is walking on its back legs and I don't have mods installed?

Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

The offspring of my horses, the foals, walk staggeringling like they have a neurological problem. When they turn into and adult they walk on hind legs.
I tried removing all cc per the forums but no change.
Anything else I can do?
Renaming the game and starting over does not seem like it would do anything because there is no cc and no saves,.
Plus the renaming procedure seems a little too technical for me.

My sim bred her horses and got a colt. I used the quick grow up horse treat to get the colt to adult and that's when the grapics bug hit. From that point on, every time that horse walked, trotted, or cantered, he stood up on his hind legs and walked like a human sim. This also happened if my sim was riding that horse. The only time the horse moved naturally was if he was doing jumps or barrels. I tried logging out and restarting my laptop but the bug remained. I finally sold the horse because the bug was so disturbing.
