[MAC] The Sims 4: CC Help!

Hi, i've been downloading CC on my iMac for the sims 4 and i've noticed a pattern: .package files always show up but .rar (or any other format) items never do! this is frustrating because it only limits me to download ONLY from The Sims Resource and not from tumblr as well. I've tried to change the format into .package by "get info" but it just says my game can't load because of a problem.. and that problem is the changed CC. I know i can just live with it and delete the file but I'm a CC addict no lie, and i was just wondering if there is anything i can do to solve this! I know i'm putting them in the correct place and everything because my other CC shows up and works absolutely fine.
