@SadSimsShane Is this the only beard you have the issue ?

Could you maybe add a picture of the beard in question. Might be the only one atm but once they add more, it's better to have a detailed report.
  • Sorry about that, I didn't think about it at the time.

  • @crinrict I haven't had this problem before and I'm not sure 100% what's causing it, so I'm not sure exactly what to test. I figured I'd post and see if others had it to

@SadSimsShane OK. I think it would be weird if it was just one beard so lets see if others see it for other beards.
  • @crinrict I am away from the computer ATM but just heard from someone on Reddit that it seems to be a headwear issue that is replicable. I'll try when I can with a new trans sim and try a cis sim as well.

I created a household with 4 male sims, 2 cis(male gender, male frame) and 2 trans(male gender, female frame). I have 2 of the sims the beard I first noticed the issue with and the other 2 with random beards and all of them durags on their sleep outfit. I then made them go to bed/change into the durag.

The 2 cis sims were fine, the trans sims beards once again glitched. In cas, the beard is still selected, but on the sim either shows no beard or a different/short beard.

  • @crinrict Ok I'm up at at em this morning. Booted up the game and made 4 trans sims and set their sleep clothes as follows; 1 with long beard and base game hat, 1 with long beard and a pack hat, 1 with a short beard and hat, and 1 with long beard and no hat at all.

Again, sleeping triggered the bug(I'm assuming because of hair growth cycle), but only in the Sims with both a long beard and a hat. I will link images below.

I will update the bug report with my findings.

  • UPDATE: I loaded in my game with a trans character wearing a hat and the base game mustache+gottee. He was not asleep, I just loaded the game. Only the mustache disappeared. I didn't even think to get pictures.

I don't even know what this means anymore. I guess for the foreseeable future my transmasc sims will not be wearing hats. I'm very frustrated with this at this point.

ANOTHER UPDATE: After a couple days of playing with no hats and beard growth off, the beards are still disappearing. I do not know the cause. I have no idea what to even put in the bug report. It can be triggered by loading the game, sleeping, taking a shower, or one time I just paused the game and went to the bathroom and it happened. I am at a loss. I will be removing beards for my transmasc sims for the foreseeable future.

This issue is happening with me too - but it's not beards, and my sim doesn't wear any headwear of any kind. I found an older troubleshooting post which stated that male sims with female frames will lose their facial hair after certain interactions, and also as time goes on.

It happens whether you have hair growth enabled or not. But it may be due to that, I'm not sure. We'd need someone without the High School Years pack to test that for us.

I'm getting sick of having to go through a loading screen every 30mins just to put my sim's moustache back on.

I've been mucking around with the CASMenu tuning and I enabled the Facial Hair CASMenuCategory for female sims, but I noticed that facial hair applied to female sims disappears sometimes when changing categories and always when saving them or starting a new game.

This could be the result of whatever configuration is blocking facial hair from working properly on female sims. My sim is Male/Feminine Frame but I never use facial hair so I've never encountered this before.

I'll look into this but I don't think this is a PartFlag issue. I've been over these items multiple times. Sadly, I've not been able to find "the config code" either. My goal was to enable facial hair for female sims... since EAxis already makes female meshed facial hair.

@Sejian I don't know if this will help or not, but more information is usually helpful right?

Most of the time when I reapply the facial hair it has been removed/deselected.
However, one time I noticed that the facial hair was still selected, but was invisible. When I deselected it and reselected it, it became visible again (and later disappeared again).

๐Ÿ˜ข For years I'd been planning to create an Aunty sim with facial hair & finally got all packs & made Aunt Bernice, only to bring her into live mode & facial hair is gone. What's all this equality stuff all about that EA says it supports, yet we can't even keep facial hair on women frames, even though it happens in real life, even real women have had to have facial hair, so why is the game barring that one thing? It's sending a message to confirm that women can't have facial hair like it's the ultimate thing that's not aloud to exist. This is not fair Sims Team. Over a year this is reported & not fixed. I can see why people give up on Sims.

Since I started this thread I am one of the players that have given up and made the exodus from the Sims/EA market. I left around the time of the flashing cart issue, which was especially frustrating since they had just put in a handful of inclusive updates and then rolled out a "give money" button that was awful to different members of the disabled player base.

Along with seeing years-long problems go unfixed, I just decided it wasn't worth it after that, decided no more of my money for EA until a functioning Sims 4(or 5, before they scrapped it) exists. Every time I see a new update or feature unveiled and feel a little sad about missing out, I remember it probably won't work or will break the game, and I haven't been wrong yet.

I didn't even get the rerelease of MySims, despite it being so important to me over the years, because I didn't trust it would actually be a quality port and I'm sticking to the "functioning game" rule. I knew this may be MS last outing, but I made the hard decision.

Anyway, 1 year later, this beard thing was definitely one of the straws.

I am disappointed to find this was also reported on another post from May 2023, still not fixed, & not enough people caring to click me too..

I just posted bug on Twitter X & tagged sims gurus, hopefully they'll notice it & look into it. As for getting word spread around to get more me too clicks, I don't have followers enough to see it.

  • I am having this problem as well! I came to search for a fix and I can't believe there is no fix and this has been a bug for years โ˜น๏ธ((

I just made my own bug report about this, disheartening to see this is still an issue. Hope there's a patch to fix it soon, or at least a modder to save the day ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ

omg, Fixed!(I checked)TY! Now I can finally play Aunt Bernice sim in Fframe๐Ÿค๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โžก๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰yay๐Ÿฅน

(Before fix, I'd turned her to male frame to get the facial hair in game, but it wasn't as good, so I left her aside sadly, So relieved the team fixed it finally!)

*(can be marked as solved now)
