Re: [FIXED] Corrupted (R-rental) lot/Map doesn't load anymore/White Screen

White/blank screen when I try to open Tomarang (the world from For Rent). It had worked before for a few days, but now when I try to open Tomarang it won't load. It's just a white screen. I only experience this with Tomarang, not any other world. It's the same with every save file. I don't have any mods or anything. I have tried to repair the game, the game is up to date, I'm on mac, have plenty of storage. I have many other expansion, game and stuff packs but this has never happened to me before. It has been like this for days, every time I open the game.

    @crinrict 

    Do you mean a backup of my save file or a backup of what? 🙂 Because this is a problem in all save files

    @noalindbom This issue is contagious so you need to close down your game and then try another save or backup. If you saved other saves this way, they will also be corrupted.

    Yes, a backup of your save game.

    What way? I don't understand. Sorry, I'm very confused, because I made a new save and I had the same issue in that save too. I also tried with old save files that I haven't touched in months, and it didn't work there either. I tried, but it doesn't work in the backup saves.

    @noalindbom Did you close down the game before making a new save ?

    If you just exit your save game and go back to the main menu and then create a new save or load another, the save will spread to the next save.

    So what you need to do is

    1. Close your game (so that Sims does not run anymore)
    2. Restart the game
    3. Test if the issue still occurs on a new save game.

    Oh, yes that worked! Thank you. 

    Do you know if there is any way for me to move a family from a corrupted save to a new save file? The problem happened in my legacy challange file, and I have spent a lot of hours on it. It would really suck if there is no way to continue playing with it.

    Also, do you know what causes this bug so I can prevent it from happening in the future?

    @noalindbom You should be able to access them through the household manager. Just use Load game instead of resume and then go to the household manager and save the Sims you want to keep to your library. You'll loose inventory and relationships though

    Did you test any backups in this way to see if any of them work ? Just always close down the game inbetween.

    The bug seems to have to do with certain lots (residential rentals) that got corrupted somehow.

    Yes, I tried all the backups, but they didn't work unfortunately. Okay, thank you anyway! 

    Do you think this is something that will be fixed or will this always be like this? And will my save files be repaired then?

    @noalindbom I don't know what they can fix and how fast it will be. I don't work for EA. I do hope they put priority of fixing the root cause soon and hopefully that will also fix the corruption

    I would def not delete the saves just yet.

    You can try the workaround with disabling the pack mentioned earlier in this thread but that will make you loose everything from the For Rent pack on that save and you'll need to redo stuff.

    I'm okay with that, because I haven't used that pack a lot in that save.

    I tried to look through the thread but i can't see anything about how you disable a pack? Can I enable it again after and how do i do that? Sorry to bother you with all these questions!

    I have the same issue, but instead of recovering households i want to recover lots! Is there any way from me to do this? i've spent lots fo hours building and editing etc etc and it freaking annoys me that now I do not see anything anymore and I cannot use my game! It's a steal, I paid for the game, and it should be working properly! I've spent a lot of time on this world and I wish there was something I could do! please help me!
