[XB] Platforms have a gap instead of a ceiling

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Apply a section of platform, any size to a room.
What happens when the bug occurs? If there is not another room built above it, it will leave a gap. If there is just a roof added above it then it won't fill in with a ceiling. There's no option to add a ceiling either by clicking on the platform. I have to create one myself (see attached image).
What do you expect to see? I expect it to get an automatic ceiling, like a regular room would.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. It's always happened since platforms were added some time ago but it only became a problem for me when ceiling coverings were added in the recent update.

This came about from discussions with other players having a similar issue so I haven't tagged it as Xbox specific. I attach images of the problem and my steps to manually correct it by using a section of fencing to create a room above the blank space and fill it in with concrete to get a ceiling.

@SheriGR I managed to get some images on my tablet of my testing today. They were a bit dark so I highlighted the platform with a shiny floor covering and some spotlights. I tested on flat ground first with a raised central platform, a raised wall side platform and a sunken central platform (the octagonal one as it wasn't a clear image so I made it a distinctive shape). Success! They all got their ceilings where they didn't before. Then I tested it on a raised deck and they still got ceilings. When the wall was removed by the platform, it still had a ceiling but no wall because of the separate room problem. I'll add some of these images on that thread too.
I tested the shapes I had problems with as well such as the Aqua Villa lot we discussed on the discussion thread where there was a large U shaped platform with huge missing ceiling, that also worked.
I also noticed that when I deleted the room around the platform, where the platform is classed as a separate room it was left standing and still had a little floating ceiling. So it looks like it's working.

Thank you for posting this bug report @simsplayer818 ! I also see missing holes over my platforms (unless I fill them via a workaround, as you mentioned). It's very frustrating, and it even happens in a room that has a middle height wall and a platform at the default height (no height increase), so there's no chance it's from a lack of sufficient head-clearance for a Sim over the platform (if they were to stand on it). This is from an experiment where I made the platform after the room (left - I shrunk the platform down to one tile after making it), or when I drew a room around the original shrunken platform via the wall tool (right).
I find this to be very frustrating (holes in the roof) and would love to see it corrected. Thank you, again, for posting this report! 🙌

I just went in and tested further. I found that if I made the platform in middle of the room, the ceiling did not disappear. However, if I made the platform outside the room (in this case on the ground), then used the move tool to place the platform inside the room, then the ceiling did disappear.
I tested further on the disappearing ceiling and found that the method of producing the disappearing ceiling mentioned above did not work when I moved the platform from the yard to inside a room in the main house on the lot - which has a raised foundation. It only happened when It moved the platform from the yard with the move tool to a different building on the lot that has one level only and does not have a raised foundation. So... if that detail is of any help, there it is.
Note... @simsplayer818 So weird... When I just did a test using a 4 foundation levels up room for the other thread by @Pick-a-boo_doo, then making platform on the ground and moving it into the center of that room, it did delete the ceiling! Crazy, as it did not delete the ceiling when I placed the platform that way into the house I have on the lot (which is 3 foundation levels raised home - and I tried on the first floor and the second floor, in case the floor level mattered) when I added it on the second floor or first floor finished rooms... sort of. If I placed the platform in the first floor room so two tiles of the platform had a second story room above it and two only had a roof above it, the two tiles with only the roof above them did delete. Well, I'm crying uncle. Not sure if any of that will be of any use, but there it is. 🙌

@SheriGR It can also leave gaps in the roof edges as well until it's filled in. I can see daylight through the roof until I fix it. I was baffled at first but then I realised it was the lack of a portion of ceiling that was causing the uneven roof edge.

@SheriGR This appears to be working after yesterday's patch in my game so before I close this thread I want to check in with you first. I've tested this every which way and it's fine for me.
Even my ceiling controls are back too.
Ceilings fill in, in the exact spot where they didn't work before.

@simsplayer818 Wellllllll.... I'm not sure on my end on that or not, as I could reproduce the issue, but I'm not sure if I had to do it exactly this way or not before, and how it differs from what you're seeing in your game.
I just experimented on that lot in my (updated) game, and:
I found that if I made a room and then placed and resized to one tile a square platform on the lawn by it...
If I picked up the 1-tile platform with the move tool and placed it into the small room, the ceiling was removed over the platform. (see screenshots) However...
If copied the 1-tile platform with the move tool and placed the copy into the small room, the ceiling was not removed over the platform.
Also, as before (see the larger room on the left), if I make a room big enough to create the platform directly in the room (not touching any walls and not making it on the ground and moving it into the room), the ceiling over the platform does not delete.

@SheriGR I'll take some images with my tablet tomorrow to compare. I tested with the same type of platforms that were causing the problems before and they were okay. In fact the platform ceiling not only filled in...but wouldn't delete 🤦.

@simsplayer818 I was just looking at your previous screenshots. Both of those were situations where your platform was against a wall. I redid my test with that in mind (sorry, I was not testing what you were looking for). I found the following:
In my (updated) game:
I found that if I made a room and then placed and resized to one tile a square platform on the lawn by it...
If I make a room big enough to create the platform directly in the room and touching the wall (not making it on the ground and moving it into the room), the ceiling over the platform does not delete. (But the wall next to it deletes).
Also, if I, like in my experiment in the last comment I posted, make a one tile platform on the ground outside the room, then if I pick up the 1-tile platform with the move tool and place it into the small room against a wall, the ceiling is removed over the platform (and the wall next to it deletes). (see screenshots) However...
If copy the 1-tile platform with the move tool and placed the copy into the small room against the wall, the ceiling is not removed over the platform (but the wall next to it deletes).

@SheriGR Yes I always get the wall deleting too it's really annoying, the platform wipes out everything in its path I think that's what's causing our other issues with the platform counting as a separate room as well. I have to put another wall around it again. But I then found I still had those gaps above it after doing so and I don't have gaps now. I never like to accept a solution if anyone else might still be affected though.
I've hardly touched platforms after this lol, they've frustrated me so much.
