I had her Experiment until she got Dazed. The skills don't glow green while they're being learned, but from what I saw, she gained a level in Gemology and stayed at 15% Logic Level 5 the entire time.

I also noticed that my sim was gaining Gemology form the Chemistry Lab (but not from the Chemical Analyzer where she was analysing actual crystals and metals...?).However my main issue with this is not gaining a different skill from before, but rather how quickly I'm gaining that skill, (it would be nice if the parts where you analyse crystals actually gave you Gemology skill). I'm at day 2 at work and have already reached Gemology level 4, while I'm barely past level 2 in Logic. I had been planning to explore the Crystal Creations gameplay for the first time with this sim, but now it feels like I'm cheating by leveling up several times before I've had time to try the new Gemology table.

@OrganizationZero My sim already reached lvl 10 of gemology skill from experimenting on the chemistry lab for few hours few days in a row. Took another sim in another save almost a sim year making one piece of jewelry a day to reach lvl 10 in gemology.Whether it's a bug or intended, the amount of time it takes to reach that lvl by using chemistry lab is way too fast.

Does the gemology skill build for every action performed on the Chemistry table, or only the ones related to analyzing crystals?
If it's only crystal interactions ones, i think that is a positive thing tbh.

@rory_nutt That's a different object. The Chemical Lab is where you experiment and make serums.

can you please attach some photos of what exact interactions you are using on the table and show what skills are being gained? I know some interactions can build 2 skills together, but will only show 1 icon above the sims head. If you look in the skill panel, can you see the logic skill gaining from there?

My scientist is also gaining gemology skill from the chemistry (serum) object at the science lab.

This sounds more like a design change than a bug. I don't think it really makes the Scientist career more difficult, though, because the career doesn't require Logic skill. Scientist promotions are based on breakthroughs, not skills, so it shouldn't make any difference which skills you learn.

@thefailedbeta Do you remember if it gave logic before ? The description doesn't give an indication that it should give logic.

The gem skill is probably a bug but I'm not sure about it not giving logic unless it did before.

@crinrictI think this is because the actions (al_ChemistryTable_Experiment_Actions) during the chemistry lab experiments (si_ChemistryLab_Experiment) are related to finding metals, and finding metals in stones increases gemology.

For example, mixer_ChemistryLab_AddChemical links to loot_ObjectReward_Collectible_Metal. I don't know if this is a bug, or if it was intended.
