Yes, my sim aged up to teen with random skills, like the one from Jungle Adventure. She hadn't been to high school to get any of the skills there.
When she did go to school, the traits acted like they were never there, ie she started at level one.
I am also having this issue! My sim is getting random skills for no reason, including Salvadorian culture. Every time I start a new game to erase it she gets it again!

I've had this issue as well. My sims keep getting the Selvadoradian Cultureskill. My sims haven't traveled to Selvadorada. I haven't noticed when it appears but my sims have used the mirror to work on their charisma skill as mentioned earlier in the thread. I'll test it with another sim.
I'm having this issue too. They are learning Selvadoradan skills but never traveled there. I've had this happen with several sims. I also noticed in my current save that the mother and child have gotten the knitting skill. They haven't learned knitting and don't have a basket on the lot. But what I did notice is they are using the rocking chair, which is from Nifty Knitting I think? Both the parent and child have used the rocking chair and have the knitting skill. So I wonder if the random Selvadoradan skills are coming from interacting with a Jungle Adventure item, like a mirror or something?
