Re: Vacation lot in San Myshuno won't load

@sheryn79

Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

Best is to delete the ones you have, then trigger the error and check if new ones are created.

If that is the case, please upload them to a new post in this thread.

Please either create a .rar file to upload or copy/paste the content into your post.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Uploading the file is meant for troubleshooting.

@crinrict I removed the files and then tried again to load the lot. But it just sits on the diamond loading screen and won't load it. A new last exception is not created. I don't play with mods or cc and never have. I've tried repairing the game for both my corrupt save file and this but it isn't fixing the issue.

Apologies. Vacation lot is in San Sequoia not San Myshuno.

But back to your question, other vacation lots are working, but I've just noticed another vacant lot in San Sequoia won't load either. Seems to be a problem in that world.

Would you be willing to share your save with me ?

If so, please zip your saves folder and upload it somewhere like dropbox, googledrive or OneDrive and PM me the link.

Thanks. I also tried clearing my cache files after some more research. That allowed me to load the lot I wanted on to the vacation lot in San Sequoia but since doing this, the load screen icon is still doing it on other lots across this world where it literally just gets caught in the load screen. I've also tried changing resolution. I'm going to try backing up and reinstalling the game, but if this doesn't work, I will see if I can zip my files for you as requested as I'd really like to try and rectify my other corrupt save too. There it appears the exclamation lot houses in Willow Creek are residential lots but says they are owned lots even though I have never used them as retail lots or rental properties. I've tried selling them but it just goes from one colour exclamation to another. I gave up on the fix to create this whole new save and haven't even played. Literally just rebuilding with one lot owned. But it seems to be having issues too. I have a feeling it might have something to do with the in game gift rewards running at the moment as I had received these all before, but now the system is popping up with them again each day for me to accept them all over again.

@sheryn79 You mean you have the exclamation issue on this save as well ? If so, you probably just have that issue. There's many users reporting it happens on new saves for them to.

I personally haven't looked into it at all.

The exclamations were occurring in my original saves, not this one as this is a whole new save that I started to rebuild my original world. But I would like to have a look at both and see if either can be fixed.

    Just a further update:

1/ We uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and then put our latest game save file back into the required folder.

It still just hangs on loading some lots on the updated save.

Can you tell me where I would need to send the zip files to for you to have a look. I’ll include the removed last exemption files in case these offer any clues.

    Thanks

Thanks, I have sent files with a bit more detail. Let me know if you find anything that helps resolve any of the issues described.

Following on from the above. I tried to enter my game and remove some elevators in my played lot to see if that was an issue. I saved the file and now on entering I am getting an 800 error. The problems just seem to continue!

@sheryn79 When you started rebuilding the save, did you still had your houses in the library/gallery and populated it from there or did you upload them from the corrupted exclamation mark save game ?

    What?
We can't save and place buildings from a broken game? How can I restore the save in this case?

Some of the files were uploaded to the gallery from my original save and some were on the gallery already from when they were originally built. Note: all builds were tested and working at some stage. It only appears they have only stopped working since the last few months. I think your theory that For Rent is involved in some way has some merit. However, I really enjoy creating For Rent builds so I do hope that some resolution will eventually be released in a patch from EA. Playing without For rent might fix the rebuild save but for me this is quite frustrating to know that a whole pack has been payed for and literally can't be played or bugs will be caused.

The Rental DLC is causing all these errors. Especially in Willow Creek. If you have any Rental Residential in Willow Creek, delete it or it will start to corrupt your other lots in other DLC's. You will start to see Error 800 and 801 everywhere.

So many people seem to be having similar frustrations. Hope EA is taking note and working on a fix! 😞

  • This is a fact. Plus you had to put new housing lots instead of the old ones from EA. Each time error signs appeared exactly after installing rental housing. Now EA just removed these error icons. And we can't figure out at what point our save requires a rollback to the old version. Only by seeing default lots instead of new ones in game mode you can understand that the save is broken. Usually these lots cannot be accessed a second time, endless loading. It is difficult to notice. Thanks to EA for their silence and such a brilliant solution to the corrupted exclamation mark problem.

@sheryn79 I think since your save started working on some lots when I disabled FR, I think at least that part is related to FR.

There are several different issues in this forum that I believe are basically the same root problem just manifesting themselves differently. Houses disappearing, worlds and lots not loading or reverting to default or having exclamation marks just seem to stem from some error/corruption occurring on the lot.

I'm letting the CM decided if this threads should be merged with one of the others or not as I don't think this is in any way specific to vacation lots.

Hi, I also had a crash issue while renovating a rental/vacation lot in city living DLC on PS4.

I was renovating the penthouse in the arts district when I got booted back to console home screen and got this message - "Application data is corrupted. Please uninstall and reinstall application"

Never had this problem before and I've always had that penthouse as a vacation/rental and I've never seen that data corrupted message before.

    Thanks Crinrict,

Today I went back into the game with the attempt to start a whole new save file and see what happened. I literally created a character, moved them into an existing lot, then went into build mode on another lot in Willow Creek (the park) and now it is going all blue and blurry on the lot. A whole brand new save shouldn't be having this issues. I can try uninstalling and reinstalling again, but my fear is I will have to lose my existing saves altogether, and since building from the gallery is also from some comments causing bugs the whole game appears unplayable. I've attached a picture of what I am getting in a screenshot on this new save and attempt to build. I'm so frustrated that the game has basically become unusuable.
