Re: "Uhg, Family" moodlet?

Thank you so much for all of this information. He may have been going through a phase, but I aged him up into a teenager and I'm not getting anything through parenting about talking to him about a phase. 

By the way, his name is Adrian and his adult brother is Judas.
Judas only gets the moodlet when Adrian has it and is around him, which happens any time he is around Judas at all. I think he may be jealous of him and that is what is causing it because he is the youngest? (is that programmed into the game?)
Also, since he has been turned into a vampire, he has been drinking from people uncontrollably while his thirst meter is full! Does this also have to do with his anger issues?

Also, i just noticed that he has VERY low emotional control. Could this have something to do with it as well?

@Andipoodle , thanks for your detailed description of your problem! 🙂  As far as I know, the only "jealousy" programed into the game is with the Jealousy trait, but its description only lists it as pertaining romantic jealousy ... also, my experience of it in the game has only produced results for romantic jealousy.   Also, there does not seem to be a knowledge of "birth order" in the game.  Even with the Parenthood Game Pack, I have not run into any birth order issues so far.

I think the most likely culprit is his low Emotional Control.  That would make him more likely to deal with any negative emotion in an unproductive way.  (I don't know if it would make him get angry more often, though, nor do I know if it would make him get the "Ugh Family" moodlet more often).  Try to raise his emotional control levels and see if that helps!  One good way to raise emotional control is to go into Buy Mode and buy a journal for him.  Have him write in his journal often, and that will raise his emotional control! 😇 Other actions will also raise emotional control, but I don't remember all of them, and the journal is easy to use and not expensive! 😉

As for the uncontrollable feasting on people even when his thirst meter is full, that sounds like a separate issue (but I could be wrong).  I'm not sure what could be causing that!  🤔  The only thing I can think of is if you have Mods or CC (Custom Content) in your game.  That could be affecting both the "Ugh Family" moodlet, but is very likely to be making your Vampire Sim constantly drink from other Sims even when they are full.  What Aspiration and traits does your Vampire Sim have?

Okay well.. at the moment.. Adrian is dead. He decided that staying indoors was a bad idea and died from sunlight (or didn't sleep, it was 10 pm after all.) and Judas has the "Uhg, Family." Moodlet even though Adrian is dead and he isn't around any family. I tried to use "sims.remove_all_buffs" on him and the moodlet stayed! I wish I knew how to check to see if a particular mod is causing the problem without removing them all...

@Andipoodle , Sorry your Sim died! 😢  I would have liked to have know if you could have fixed is constant drinking from Sims even when his thirst was satisfied.  🤔

Now since I know you have Mods in your game, I'm thinking that that is what is causing at least one of your issues, if not both of them!   Since I don't play with Mods (for exactly this kind of reason) I don't know of the best way to handle your problem.  I've heard other people say that they will take out a Mod or CC one at a time to try to find the culprit, and then put everything back in the game except the CC or Mod that causes the problem, but if you have a lot of Mods or CC, this might be tedious!  It is very odd 😮 (not to mention frustrating 😬 ) that Judas still has the "Ugh Family" moodlet with no family around!

If you do find the Mod that is the culprit, then if you can contact whoever made the Mod and see if they can update it so it works properly.  Every time there is a new patch or new content (such as a new pack added to the game), Mods usually have to be updated to work properly with the new game data.

I actually went in to repair the game and it fixed Judas' 'uhg family' problem. I'm still working on making an ambrosia to bring Adrian back. At the lab, Judas used a red hot serum on himself and when he got extremely angry, he went vampire nutso and started drinking uncontrollably like Adrian! So anger is the cause of random rampant vampire neck bitery! I am not sure if the repair of the game fixed Adrian since hes dead right now but so far so good.

I'm very glad you fixed the "ugh Family" moodlet problem!  :eahigh_file:  Also, great detective work to find out what caused the uncontrollable drinking of Sims!  I haven't' had the Vampire Game pack for that long, and I really haven't  gotten any of my Vampires really mad yet, so that is good to know!  Now I want to make a Hot Headed Vampire and see what kind of havoc they wreak! 👿 LOL 😉

Adrian is finally back! It took so long to get all the ingredients for the Ambrosia. I'm going to drop Adrian's artist career and have him be a writer instead so he can make books of life. I imagine it's so much easier. But as you can see, not long after Judas and Adrian are reunited, they both get the 'Uhg, Family' moodlet. Judas being an adult and Adrian a teen.

I'm going to mess around with his traits and see if it's nerd vs. artist causing the problem.

@Andipoodle, I never heard of a "Nerd" vs. "Artist" conflict in the game.  In fact since you can make a Sim with both of these traits, that would mean that those traits isn't what's causing the moodlet.   Now if one is "Good" and the other "Evil" that does create some tension in a relationship, and it is impossible to have both Good and Evil in the same Sim! 😉

Can you give their Aspirations and traits ?

Also, I'm thinking this moodlet is probably more caused by the status of their relationship.  If their relationship is really negative, then they will get negative moodlets from that. ☹️  You will have to slowly build their relationship back up.  Appologizing, Finding Common Ground, etc. are good ways to do this.   🙂

thanks for the details! 🙂 I was trying to see if any of them had a Criminal aspiration or if they had the Evil , Mean, or Hot-Head traits, but none of their traits would account for their animosity. Plus, that Childhood Enemies status you found is the likely culprit!  :eahigh_file:   Unfortunatly I usually concentrate on having my Siblings get along for the most part -- a few squabbles here and there, but I try to have them be friends for the most part.  This means that I don't know what to do with a "Childhood Enemies" relationship in the same household! 😞 I'm sorry.😳  I will try to make a new family and try to duplicate your results to see If I can figure out how to help you!  Do you know what you had them do to each other that might have made them have the Childhood Enemies status? 🤔

Hi Puglove! Thanks for the response. We have already checked all of these things and it doesn't appear to have anything to do with any of them. There's something else that's going terribly wrong. I'll try some cheats to see if I can remove said 'phase', but I don't believe they have it. I believe it's being caused by 'childhood enemy'... Still trying to figure out a way to fix it.

Hello @Andipoodle ! No, I agree with you that its most likely the "Childhood Enemies" status, but that isn't necessarily a glitch or bug, I think it is designed that way. 😇  Tha'ts a good idea to try to remove it with a cheat.  🙂

If there is something really "terribly wrong" then you will have to remove you Mods and CC one at a time to try to find what's messing with your game ☹️, but unless you have a Mod that affects relationships, then the Childhood Enemies status is supposed to be there and it would have to do with relationship status and their previous interactions with each other.  In that case you would need to improve their relationship.

Do you know if there is a way to remove 'childhood enemies' with a cheat? I have scoured the internet looking for a fix but I have come up empty. Filling their friendship meter to the top didn't help either. Anything will help at this point. I just don't know what to do and I can't have them be angry all the time, especially Adrian as he is quite prone to death apparently. Plus with the twins now here, it's so hard to manage the household.
Do you also know if there is something that will auto-command vampires to eat the fruit when they are hungry so they don't go after sims? I have an orchard of plasma trees and i have to feed the fruit one at a time to the sims and they take a very long time to feed...

that's alright, @Andipoodle , 😇  I usually don't mess with too many cheats, I'll try to see if I can find any for your situation, 

So, since filling their friendship bar doesn't work, I'm thinking that this has to do with a Mod you are using.  Do you have any relationship Mods?  If not, then do it still might be another Mod causing the problem.🤨

As for the Vampires I don't think that there is anything to make them automatically eat their plasmafruit or plasma packs over Sims, unless there is a Mod out there, but since it is probably a Mod causing your other problems, then this wouldn't be the best idea to get another one until you sort out your other problem. 😞 What you can do is go into "Controls" and under the Gameplay tab you can turn off "Free Will" so that in order for your Sim to do anything, you have to direct them to do it. 🙂

I'm going to try to find a cheat for you, but there might not be one.

I do not have any relationship mods and it turns out mods are not the problem. Here is Judas again with the 'uhg, family' next to Adrian and this is with ALL MODS removed.

Thanks for testing your Mods! 😇 Well, at least we can rule those out!  I've gotten the "Ugh Family" moodlet before, myself, but it was not constant like yours is ! I'm trying to see if I can get a Childhood Enemies status to see if I get the moodlet and if it is as prevalent as yours if they have the Childhood Enemies status! 🤔 I'll get back to you!

Thank you so much for the help and looking into this for me. I've only had the sims for less than a month.
I also decided to get the grim reaper in a family and he is have a toilet problem.
He sits on the toilet and never gets any relief and when I have told him to get of the toilet, he flushes, then sits back down to use it again.
I have tried 'reset object' on him but he hasn't had any change and I fear he may be stuck forever! He's the only grim reaper in game so I can't just remake him!
I have also tried multiple toilets and that didn't seem to help. Here's a screenshot.

(and thank you. The kitchen / family room is one of my favorites in the house!)

side note: The Grim Reaper's aspiration is 'Grilled Cheese.' Your goal is to eat grilled cheese, talk about grilled cheese, and make grilled cheese and as the aspiration goes up, the quality of the grilled cheese goes up. I can't figure out how it even works because there is no action under friendly for him that is "talk about grilled cheese" so i maxed out his aspiration with cheats.
Just... Grilled cheese though...? Someone at EA really likes grilled cheese.

@Andipoodle, I havn't forgotten about you, I've just been busy with family and haven't had time to play but for a tiny bit. 🐶 I'm still trying to get the Childhood Enemies status for some Sim siblings to see what causes it, and if anything can be done about it, either in game play, or cheats , etc.  🤔

I understand how difficult it is when you are new to a game and still trying to learn the ropes (and then something goes wrong!)  With Sims 2 and 3 there used to be the Prima Strategy guides that you could buy and they would be a humongous help, but they don't make those for TS4. 😢

As for your Grim Reaper problem, I'm not sure ... it might be because he is an NPC and not normally in a playable household.  I've known of people who have added him to their game, but I have never done it in TS4. The only NPCs I've added to my family are some repairmen whom were stuck on my lot and I tried to add to my family to see if that unstuck them, it did but another one filled his place and was also stuck! LOL😃

Is the Grim Reaper in the same household as Adrian & Judas?  🤔

I've only just now tried the Grilled Cheese Aspiration in my game.  This aspiration was added about a year or so ago in order to celebrate a Sims anniversary along with the Tragic Clown, the Cow Plant, and the Kleptomaniac trait. 🥳  The Tragic Clown was in TS1, the Grilled Cheese Aspiration and the Cow Plant was in TS2, and the Klepto trait was in TS3.  When they added these to TS4, I didn't play with the Grilled Cheese Aspiration because I was too busy making and playing my Tragic Clown family (the LaRue's) and I forgot about the new Grilled cheese Aspiration!  But I loved that aspiration in TS2 and had a lot of Grilled Cheese Sims running around my neighborhoods!  I had even made a house entirely out of orange, yellow, white, and brown for a family of Grilled Cheese Sims! ❤️

As I play with my new TS4 Grilled Cheese Sim, I will see if I can have her reach the top of her aspiration without using cheats, and if I find out how, I will share the info with you! But first I will try to find out more about the Childhood Enemies status for you! 🙂

Grim has his own house with his killer cowplant and ghost wife. Their house is haunted so as elders die, they begin to haunt their home and scare Grim and his wife! (How does a ghost scare a ghost and death itself?)

I was going to put Grim in with the Cromley's but I decided to add grandma and grandpa instead.. So There is Margaret, Cornelius, Atticus, Amelia, Judas, Adrian, Morgana and Luna.
Margaret and Cornelius are Amelia's parents and Atticus and Amelia are the parents of the rest. I've noticed the bigger the household, the more lag I get, for sure. Keeping up with cowplant at the Cromley's place is difficult and I've already ended up with two dead and am on my third. The Reaper's cowplant will feed on unsupecting sims, as it is set outside of the gate to their yard. >🙂

@Andipoodle, LOL that death is afraid of ghosts!😃:eahigh_file:   Is the Grim still on the toilet?🤔

Also, I wanted to update you on my trying to get the "Childhood Enemies" status or whatever it is.  I made a pair of fraternal twins (different looks and different personality) and had them fight all the time and declared each other enemies as children.  Then I aged them up to teens, and while it says they are enemies, it does not say "Childhood Enemies" and they don't seem upset at being near each other unless I make them be mean to each other.🤭  Where exactly was the title Childhood Enemies located.  That might help me either figure out what's going on with your game, or it might help me figure out how to recreate it in my game. (or maybe I still won't be able to figure it out LOL) 😉

(PS. I kill my Cowplants all the time!  I've only had one ever eat anybody in TS4.  In TS3 I had them eat people all the time, but they didn't die so quickly, and were much easier to take care of!) 😞

@Andipoodle, I'm still not seeing the "Childhood Enemies" status or title.  (I mentioned this in my post above this one, but I don't know if you saw it or not since you didn't answer my question. ) My question is: where exactly is the title "Childhood Enemies" located when you saw it?  (you can show with pictures if it is too hard to describe).  I was not able to recreate it, so I must have done something wrong! Did you only notice the title when one of them aged to Young Adulthood?   🤔

It should be under the friends and family tab? Or social / or just people you know / have a relationship with. Then scroll off the sibling and it should say it on there.

Grim is no longer stuck on the toilet and Judas has moved out and has his own family so there is no problem with Adrian unless they meet up somewhere.

Thanks @Andipoodle.🙂 I gave you some XP on your post for supplying me with pictures of what your talking about.  A picture really IS worth a thousand words! 😃

That is the area I thought the Chilhood Enemies title/status would be located at, but I just wanted to make sure. 😉 The print is too small in the picture for me to read under the Childhood Enemies title, so can you tell me what the description is?  That might help.  Also, do you remember how Adrian & Judas interacted when they were younger?  Did you make them fight, or did they do it automatically ?  Do you remember any particular incidents that might have led to this state they are in?  I'm thinking the Childhood Enemies status is what is giving you the Ugh Familiy moodlet all the time, but I want to know how they got to the point of being Childhood Enemies! Even though they don't live together anymore, it can still be helpful for us to know what causes this so we can either avoid it in the future, or fix it if possible.

So, Grim is off the toilet!  LOL  (I thought he might have Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis -- no laughing matter in real life 😢, but very funny to think of in the Sims, especially with it being the Grim Reaper! 😃 LOL)  Did he stop always using the toilet on his own, or did you figure out something to make him stop?  🤔

I believe when Adrian was a child he went through some phases and ended up having a low friendship bar with Judas. Probably even being enemies. As my second 'child' sim and first to grow up with a sibling, I didn't realize this might carry on to teenagehood. 

In the relationship bar it says: "Childhood Enemies: From A negative relationship with an ally sibling."
I don't really know what that means but okay.

as for Grim, I am not 100% sure if his toilet ailments are completely gone. For awhile I played him with no needs, but if it was resolved, the game fixed it on it's own and it was a bug only during that particular gameplay.

Also have you tried to get plantsim and alien to try for baby? For some reason I can't. (I wouldn't expect my mod to turn try for baby off, just have the baby come out half human? But that's not the case here apparently?)
