It was for the business management career and the social media PR career. The level 8 objects are still shown as locked in Build Mode, whereas I got the others

No I didn't - my Sim had only done the Charity branch of the political career before embarking on these two career branches. None of my other sims had done any of these career branches before either
Damn OK thanks, that's annoying though! Is there no other way to unlock certain objects (even if it's a cheat, although not for all of them!)
