Game freezes when closing

Hi there, I'm having an issue where my game freezes and stops responding every time I "exit game" or "save & exit". On the booting-up screen, the animation is also lagging, where it only displays three frames and only if I click the game multiple times. The game runs fine until I go to exit, where it will freeze and become unresponsive. If I click out of the game, it goes completely white. The only way to close the game is to end it with the task manager. This has been happening 100% of the time.

I've followed all the general tips, moved my mods and cc into a backup folder so the game is clean, checked my PC for updates and done a fresh reinstall of my drivers, but nothing has helped. I'm at a loss. This only started happening after the new update.

I couldn't find my lastcrash.txt file, but I've attached my DxDiag and critical events.

  • kb24s5d0afry  Thanks for the dxdiag, which shows your C drive is almost out of space.  So please clear another 19 GB or so, to get to 25 free, then try again to play.

If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.  Then save your progress and let me know what happens.

If you see the same issue, repeat the test but with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

Your dxdiag lists a few crashes of other programs that are probably not relevant, but there is a component of a Razer app listed, and a few of these apps can interfere with Sims 4 at times.  So if the above doesn't help, please uninstall any Razer software you have and try again.
