@y42s703adwk4  For performance purposes, you're better off getting a desktop: the components are more powerful for the same price, cooling is better, and it's much easier to repair or upgrade.  So I'll stick with that unless you tell me specifically you'd prefer a laptop.

On that note, what do you think of this model?

    https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-gaming-desktop-intel-core-i5-11400f-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1660-ti-512gb-ssd/6501551.p?skuId=6501551

Its graphics card is overpowered for Sims 4; it has 16 GB RAM, which is nice to have if not strictly necessary; and its price is quite low, probably because Best Buy is trying to clear out models with a GTX 1660.  The processor and storage are more than fine.

If you don't like this particular desktop, let me know why, and I'll narrow the search.  There are a lot of decent options in your price range, although I don't usually see any as good as this for the same price.  Still, you could spend a bit more and get essentially the same hardware, for example:

For the monitor, please let me know what size you want it to be and whether you care about playing at high framerates.

The Last of Us and Roblox are not demanding at all, even compared to Sims 4, but if you have any newer games in mind, please list them.

    Hello,

Could you help me out with finding a laptop as well? I'm really overwhelmed by all the different opinions online, like some say HP is not good for the sims and others say it's a good brand. Same with graphic card,  apparently an AMD Radeon is bad?

I'm just not sure which combination of specs is best, I want my game to run smoothly and that it's not lagging. Like my laptop is doing now (I have an i3 processor). I also want to use it for my study (I don't need it to have any specific requirements for my study), so I would prefer 512 GB or 1TB. Possibly I would also want to use it for Hogwarts Legacy, however I don't have the game yet so it's not a requirement. Also a nice addition that I like is that the keyboard lights up in the dark.

    Could you help me out?

@Hploverr  What's your budget, what country are you in, and how much do you care about performance and quality in Hogwarts Legacy?  That game is much more demanding than Sims 4, although it should run on low settings on even an entry-level gaming laptop.

As far as brands are concerned, most are fine or they wouldn't still be in business.  What often happens is that a brand will have a cheap gaming laptop that works for a few years and then falls apart, plus a less-cheap and higher-quality laptop that works until you stop using it.  The cheapest model may get a bad reputation and get dropped, or the manufacturer might put time and effort into improving it.  This is somewhat of a generalization but is meant to say that almost no brand is "good" or "bad for gaming" overall; it's about the individual models, and sometimes specific configurations within an overall model name can differ greatly.

AMD graphics cars are very good now, but there aren't nearly as many laptops with AMD GPUs as Nvidia.  So I usually recommend Nvidia not because it's better but because for any particular buyer, the laptops that meet their needs are more likely to have Nvidia cards.
