Re: Sims 4 super laggy and glitchy

@Crazy_PandaLadye  As a test, please move your Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in your old folder but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to this new folder yet; just test a new save and see how it runs.  Let me know either way.

If the game still glitches and lags in the clean folder, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

  • @puzzlezaddict Thank you, the test did work and my game isn't glitchy in the clean folder. But, am I doing to have to recreate my old households and download new CC or can i transfer them into this folder?

@Crazy_PandaLadye  You may not have to recreate anything, but this does mean that the lag/glitchiness is  due to something in your old folder.  You can test your content in batches, looking for any signs of problems.  Any batch that causes lag needs to be split and tested until you find the problem files.  You may need to remove or replace some outdated cc, but hopefully you can keep most of it.

Once your cc is sorted out, you can move the contents of your Saves and Tray folders to the new game folder as well.  Tray has your saved households and builds.

If all your cc runs fine in the new folder, but your saves don't, the issue might happen only when your sims are wearing specific cc.  The easy test is to create another clean folder and copy over a save, but not any cc.  If it runs fine, you can repeat the cc test while loading that save, so you'll know what item(s) your sims can't use.  Be sure to quit without saving each time, or you'll need to manually reapply the cc as you go.
