Re: Laptop for The Sims 4?
@pheebay For $900, you can certainly find a sub-5 lb. 15" gaming laptop, one that would run Sims 4 (all packs included) on ultra settings now and in all likelihood for the entire development of the game. If you'd like to stay around four pounds, this MSI, in two different configurations, would be your best bet.
They're both $900, or at least they are until the sale on the first one ends. Which one is better depends on your potential future plans. The Nvidia 2060 in the first one is only few percentage points faster than the 1660 ti in the second one for typical games, but it would be significantly better at Raytracing, a technology that's just starting to make its way into the newest games. Sims 4 will never have Raytracing, unless there's a remaster at some point, and the 1660 ti is already overpowered, so getting the second laptop, with its much stronger processor, would be the better choice. If you might play other very new games at some point, you might want the 2060. Either one would be fine though.
If you don't like the MSI, this Asus is a bit heaver but still under 5 lbs. It has a 1660 ti and a processor that's more or less equivalent to the one in the first MSI, so more than fine for gaming but not especially powerful. It's also $900.
This one is just a hair over 5 lbs but with a stronger processor than the one above, and otherwise the same specs.
On the cheaper end, these two laptops are a bit under 5 lbs and are also $750. Their graphics card would run all current Sims 4 packs together on ultra settings, but that may or may not quite be true by the time the game is out of development, depending on how demanding future expansions turn out to be. A mix of high and ultra settings should always be fine though.

The other lightweight laptops in the same class are more expensive, unsurprisingly, and other gaming laptops in the same price range tend to be more like 5.5 lbs.
