@Kat21babe  You need to create a Documents folder on E, then choose that folder as the location for Documents.  (Look at the location listed in the screenshot in step 6 of the tenforums.com guide.)  Simply redirecting the contents of Documents to the root folder of your E drive, not within another folder, will create a mess and may well cause system issues, since other programs might not be able to identify the Documents directory at all.

@Kat21babe  You can use this method to reset the user folder locations to defaults, then try to move Documents again.

If you do this, please back up any critical data beforehand, preferably on an external hard drive or a free cloud storage account (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc., but not OneDrive, to keep things simple).

If you're not comfortable with the above process, it might be easier to start fresh with a new admin user account on your computer.  You could make the account, decline to sign into OneDrive, redirect Documents as originally described, and then move your Sims 4 content into the new user account.  If you need help with moving the content, let me know, but it should be easy once you have the new user account set up the way you want it.

And just to be clear, you wouldn't need to buy Sims 4 again or even reinstall it.  Any installed program is accessible from any account; it's only the user files that are separate.
