Re: Game won’t launch, mods are “corrupted”

@iamlimeyellow  Please remove all the mods you've transferred, delete localthumbcache.package, and make sure the game works.  If it does, transfer the mods from your Mac again, except this time, zip them together first.  (Right-click on the Mods folder and select Compress.)  Unzip the folder (right-click, Extract) once it's on your new laptop.

Please keep in mind that some mods may be incompatible with the patch released today, so you may still need to test your content.

@iamlimeyellow  Are you asking about localthumbcache.package?  It's just a cache file, in this case one that stores data about thumbnails and maybe a few other things.  Deleting it isn't always necessary, but it's good practice and can prevent some graphical oddities with sim or house thumbnails that you might see when custom content has been removed.

The likely issue here is that transferring the .package files corrupted them in some way.  We see that a lot when the files are moved to external storage formatted as Fat32, which USB sticks tend to be by default, as well as some external drives advertised to work with both Windows and macOS.  Zipping the folder prevents the corruption during transfer.
