Re: Sims 4 - VC++ runtime Redistributable package error
@b-miller2668 Please uninstall your 2015 runtimes—repairing often doesn't go far enough—and install the newest ones from Microsoft. Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click on each of the 2015 versions, and select Uninstall. Don't touch the runtimes from any other year, unless you see ones that are newer than 2015, in which case get rid of those too.
You can download the newest (2015-2022) runtimes here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
You'll need to install both the x86 and x64 versions, but you can skip the ARM version, which is for a different class of device. Run the installers as an admin: right-click on the downloads and select "Run as administrator." Restart your computer when you're done.
If you get an error when trying to install, you may need to disable Bitdefender temporarily, as in, just long enough to install the runtimes and (possibly) launch Sims 4 once. As long as you don't do anything else in that time, your computer should be safe.
