Re: My sims 4 won't launch after clearing cache
@cutepartypugs Yes, that's exactly the file I wanted. Your dxdiag shows that the Realtek audio driver is crashing, so the first thing to do is try to update the driver. Asus doesn't offer a newer version than what you have, but Windows might be able to find a new one. Hit Windows key-X, select the Device Manager, open the Audio tab, click on any Realtek entry you see, and click the black and green Update menu button. Let me know whether you get a newer driver.
While you're there, update any other devices under Audio, and everything under Sound, as well. It's possible the problem is two drivers conflicting with each other. It's fine if Windows can't find newer drivers for any of the devices; the point is to make it search. Restart your computer afterwards and before trying to play.
If that doesn't help, please try playing with a different sound output device plugged in and active (make sure your computer is using that device first). Use something that has a different type of connection too, for example standalone speakers vs. headphones connected via jack, and disconnect the other devices.
If that doesn't make a difference either, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to launch Sims 4, specifically after changing sound devices. If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here. If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
Finally, your computer is getting low on storage. It's not critical yet, and probably not causing the Sims 4 issues. But it would be best to try to clear another 10-15 GB for the overall health of your laptop.
