@BaldWraithSimp I use the L-star semi frequently. It's actually a better gun than the volt.

It has the same DPS as the volt. How ever the L-star bullets are bigger. The L-star also has a higher headshot multiplier. The only benefit the volt has over the L-star, is that the volt has faster ADS speeds. But if you hip fire the L-star in cqc you should win the fights.

The L-star is a weird gun to use no doubt about it. If you can figure it out it's a very strong gun. I have posted a few 1700-2k damage rounds with it.

You also have not seen the patch notes for Season 9, what if they are going to buff the L-star and make it a meta weapon for Season 9? All it really needs to be a meta weapon is a bit of a reduction on the muzzle flash.

The Longbow is not terrible especially for someone who wants to learn how to snipe with something other than the Charge Rifle or TT. It's great for spamming long range shots at enemies. I think it could use a very small buff to body shot damage to be competitive with the other snipers. But that buff would have to be small because it's fire rate is much faster than other snipers.

    @BaldWraithSimp I agree, Eva8 would be the perfect weapon for it since it's in the meta now. But let's see what they do with the L-Star first, i hate that gun but if they buff it a lot we'll have to use it.

    @DarthValtrex A lot of people don't use Longbow because it has too many attachments, even though some of them are not that necessary. For example maybe implementing Skullpiercer (with a slight nerf of it) in it just like precision choke with PK and Triple take would make the weapon much more picked imo.

    @Cro_Pittt The headshots are still typically strong enough on the longbow. I think the issue is the body shots. Longbow body shot is 55 vs every other sniper is going to hit for 72 at worst but probably some place int he 80's.

    You can spam the shots with the longbow faster. But you still have to line up those shots. It takes the same amount of time to line up charged Sentinel shot as it does to line up your first longbow shot. 2-3 taps from a sentinel and the enemy is down vs 4-5 taps with a longbow shot.

    That's why I pass on the longbow or drop it for a sentinel every time I run snipers.

    The longbow is great for third party sniping or situations where you get the first shot off. How ever even still, the Sentinel is a much better sniper and much stronger.

    I think we don't see a ton of sniping play because running one leaves you with very little margin for error both with your primary gun and your sniping gun. I run them with a 99 and so long as I'm 1 clipping everyone with my 99, it's a solid combo. But if I'm not 1 clipping people, I need a more versatile secondary whether it's a shot gun, P2020 or wingman.

    @Cro_Pittt I will never use L-Star unless they cut the muzzle flash by a lot.

    @DarthValtrex doesn't matter if it has good DPS, the muzzle flash makes it unplayable trash tier gun. It's funny tho as the community hated the muzzle flash, but they put a gun in the game with even worse muzzle flash lmao

    The L-star is hardly a "better gun than the volt". It may have the same DPS to the body and a higher headshot modifier but you convienetly left out the fact that if you want to swap weapoms it takes 10 years since the L-star is an LMG, you are also nearly stationary if you ADS with it because LMG, i has extremely slow projectiles which make hitting a target at mid/long ranges nearly impossible when you factor in that you also cant see the target. There's a reason you dont see people use the L-star other than as a meme. It's an ok gun early game, that's it.

    @Lord_Scorpion34 I kind of like the over heat mechanism though. It makes the gun unique. I just use the audio queues for the over heating but I really try and feather the trigger to avoid over heating...

    @DarthValtrex I love having a go in ranked with the gold longbow found in Elysium. Let's just say I'm working on improving 😃

    I also enjoy the splatter gun effect from the Lstar, and would welcome a buff.

    @DarthValtrexOverheating after 20 ish rounds is terrible lol. I can use it but I'd much rather handle something else. When it comes to energy weapons & LMGs it's at the bottom of those lists for me.
