Re: Possible solution to unstable FPS (NVIDIA users)

A nice feature for nvidia users, esp. for those with higher end boards (Kepler): use recent drivers and activate the Frame Rate Limiter option (it works well in combination with adaptive vsync, btw...).

To access this option you need to use either a tool from a gfx board vendor (like EVGA or MSI) or, much preferred!, the NVIDIA Inspector (eg. from here ).

It will stabilize the whole display - and might correct issues with input lag or high temperatures...

very good lets hope this topic will be update from time to time🙂

  • some ***update***

In the NVIDIA Control Panel I changed the following:

Power Management Mode: Adaptive (yes, adaptive! I was using Maximum performance and all it did was crash to windows and make my FPS unstable)
    Threaded Optimazation: On

    Windows Aero: Disabled
    Page file: Disabled

    How to disable pagefile:

How to disable Aero in Windows 7:

    This is my user.cfg file:

    GameTime.MaxVariableFps 59.95
    Render.DrawFps 0
    Render.DrawScreenInfo 0
    Render.PerfOverlayEnable 1
    Render.PerfOverlayVisible 1
    RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 1
    RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit -1
    RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 1
    Screenshot.Format png
    UI.DrawEnable 1
    WorldRender.DxDeferredCsPathEnable 0
    WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 1024

My settings ingame : Everything ULTRA + 4x MSAA + HBAO+ Vsync ingame ( no DOF)
for 99% of the time I don't have fps drops, it also depends a bit on the maps.. Gulf of Oman is still a bitch

    Rig:

    i7 930 @ 4.2Ghz
    6GB RAM @ 1603Mhz
    Asus P6X58D-E (0602)
    Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 2GB @1231/7406

So far it is working insanely good. I can finally enjoy the game and I am not ALT+F4 after couple of minutes. Only FPS drop I noticed was @ Karkand from the US side going through the right side.. that small area there seems to always give me a little problem.

Give it a try and let me know!
