Re: Battlefield 4 is already installed but it wants to re-install

Hi, Origin probably just wants to verify your files or know where they are.

Maybe this might help:

Solution from Carbonic http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-4/Not-able-to-play-Installed-games/m-p/2105671#M81939
How to restore Origin games from backup:
1. Take a backup of the game, normally at C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games not from documents
3. Start Origin on the intended installation computer and download BF4 for a couple of minutes
4. Close Origin
5. Copy over the backup, overwriting all files
6. Start Origin again, it will verify all the files and just adjust the registry and download the settings files.

Now, if China Rising servers don't work after doing this you will need to do the following:

(warning messing with the registry can harm your computer if you are not careful)
Log out and exit Origin
Open your Registry Editor (regedit)
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > EA Games > Battlefield 4
Check if there is a folder named "Xpack1" under "Battlefield 4"
If yes, there's a folder -> click on "Xpack1" - on the right pane check if there is a string named "Installed" - the Value data should be "True"
If no, there's no folder -> right-click on Battlefield 4 -> New -> Key
- a new folder will be created, name it "Xpack1"
- right-click on Xpack1 -> New -> String Value - name it "Installed"
- on the right-pane, double-click on "Installed", set Value Data to "True"
Exit Registry Editor
Start Origin and Join China Rising Maps
If needed:
Repair Install BF4
Clear browser cache, cookies and temporary files then login to Battlelog
