Battlefield 1 doesen't launch

I recently reinstalled BF1 on my PC after a long period of inactivity, and every time I try to launch it, I get an error saying "launch failed."
I tried reinstalling the game (and restarting my PC afterward) and repairing the file, but neither option worked.
The game has always worked, so I don't understand why it won't launch now. Maybe it has something to do with the new anti-cheat feature?

  • Hello _GrubbyGamer_XP,
Yes, the issue is likely tied to EA’s new anti-cheat system. Try this: dogsounds

    - Go to your BF1 install folder and run EAAntiCheatInstaller.exe, then select BF1 and click Update.
    - Delete CryptBase.dll from the BF1 folder if present.
    - Set BF1.exe and EAAntiCheatLauncher.exe to “Run as Administrator.”
    - Launch the game from the EA App, not directly.

These steps have resolved launch failures for many players.
