Banned for getting a refund through PayPal
This all started two weeks ago when I tried purchasing the ultimate shortcut pack in Battlefield 1 on PC. When I attempted to purchase it, I used PayPal as the payment. After completing the information and confirming the purchase, you are sent back to the Battlefield 1 store page with the message "transaction canceled" or something similar to that. Either way, you are told your purchase was canceled. Naturally, I thought it didn’t work, and since the shortcut pack still did not show as "owned" in the store, I tried purchasing it again through PayPal and again got the same message that it was canceled after confirming the purchase. I decided to check my PayPal account and sure enough both purchases were processing. Since I didn't want to spend 80 dollars for something only worth 40 dollars, I tried to cancel the second purchase. PayPal did ask me if I contacted the seller first, to which I made sure to check the EA play app and my account online. I could not find anything like a purchase history or how to get a refund. After that, I went ahead and requested PayPal to cancel one of the purchases. 2 weeks go by and PayPal gives me my refund.
The next day I received an email from ea saying because I got a charge back/refund, my entire account has been terminated. I of course disputed this immediately and filed a claim. I got the response this morning saying they are keeping my account banned anyway, so I filed another one and am writing this post to air to the public exactly what to expect if you accidentally make a purchase and try to rightfully get your money back.
This is completely unacceptable and needs to change. I don’t expect my account to be restored at this point, even though it should be as I did nothing wrong.

What you've described doing is a charge-back. Here is EA's stance on charge-backs:

If ever unsure what to do, please know that EA have published official help guides on our EA Help site that outline the best steps to follow to get assistance. For example, the article "View your EA order history and status information" outlines that your EA Order History for purchases made through Origin can be viewed from your Account Portal and that you can view your Order History at anytime to find details on the date, description, order number, status, and price of your order.
In terms of the ban, it sounds like Terms of Service have responded already and let you know it's been correctly applied. I'm sorry to say that there is nothing that we can do to change this.
