Can I get banned for running Logitech Gaming Software while in game?
I currently using a Logitech G900 gaming mouse and G933 headset, which means to enable full functionality on the hardware I need to run Logitech Gaming Software, most importantly enabling the virtual surround sound on my headset.
However, I'm concerned if this sort of software could be prohibited since one of the functions of the software is the ability to program macros on most of the buttons on my mouse, as well as the buttons on my headset.
I think I heard that EA could ban accounts that use macro software, but at the same time Logitech offered a special hardware promotion by offering exclusive hardware related to Battlefield 1, and even offered an exclusive melee weapon with it. On the webpage that advertised the promotion they also showed off the lighting effects when running the software.
I have no intention to use macro keys, but my concern is being terminated from EA services for running the software while playing Battlefield 1 and other Origin titles.
I'm confused about the stance and rules EA/DICE has set about running this particular software. Can I run this software as long as I do not create and use any macro programming to my hardware? Or am I forced to turn off the software entirely while running Battlefield 1?
Please note: I do not intend to break any rules and talk about anything illegal. I just want to know if I can get banned from Origin and other EA services if I run a particular software.
Logitech Gaming Software is fine. Reprogramming buttons is fine. Don't make any macro's that automates play and you should be fine.
