    @furiousmustache Well, a free game is great in any capacity, but if you were hoping to upgrade it, then yes.

    Perhaps you could sell it or re-gift it?

    Could also be a matter of wait and see too. As in play the free game you got and wait to see if an upgrade path comes out after release day.

    I mean it wasn't really free, but it would really be nice if EA gave us an option to upgrade because I'd really like to play on the 12th. I already used the key, because I wanted to play the beta.

    Too bad Origin openly adversises to upgrade to Ultimate Edition
    Store > Browse Games > Battlefield > Battlefield 2042
    "Upgrade to the Ultimate Edition" (first thing below "Screenshots and Videos")

    Big fail on EAs side once again...

    @Fugn_Pigeon Yup, that's what I noticed too when checking the store. It literally says Upgrade to the Ultimate Edition and it's missing.

    Can we have this escalated to whoever handles publishing at EA/Origin? I also posted a thread yesterday and only received a warm welcome on the forums and not the word on what's the status on this...

    @THISaint Yea I tried contacting support on that too now, cause I would atleast consider Gold if they truly offer upgrades soon enough.

    i bought the ultimate version on pc but the gqme is unplayqble on my machine if i buy the standard edition on ps4 will i be able to access the pre launch? and will i be able to get the ps5 version since it is supposed to be include in the ultimate ?

    @The-Doctor-Gore No, you will not be able prelaunch and I think Ultimate Edition stuff does not carry over to PS5.

    Your stats & progressions carries over, not the content it said in the blog post.

    @THISaint that suck a lot i thought that at least i could carry over the stuff of the pc ultimate edition over ps4 and be able to play the prelaunch since my ea account and ps4 is linked

    @The-Doctor-Gore You'll have to buy EA Play on PS4 to play early with Standard Edition which will give you 10 hour Early Access, that's all. Can't play more than 10 hours sadly.

    Seems like this whole launch thing is a mess because of work from home...

    @THISaint yeah and consider waiting for a long time if you got a mid range pc to be able to play the game i got every thing on low 720p and dynamic resolution and i barely get 60fps and big drop in beta i could play in 1080p low at 60-70fps no dynamic resolution

    Meanwhile, I subscribed to EA Play and the button is still greyed out since I own the Standard Edition... There should be a "Get the game" button on store but it's gone as I already own the game.

    You purchased EA Play standard (not Pro)? Then you can have a 10 hour trial by searching 2042 in the store and installing the one that says "Trial" beside it. I was confused over this too.

    @Jo2e47 Origin couldn't recognize me being a member.

    EA app did.

    Also, happy I didn't upgrade to Ultimate Edition, lol.

    Did you have to download a separate "trial" version or could you play the one that pre-loaded?  Also, you did the $4.99 Play and not the Pro membership?  Thanks for any answers.

    @RandPlayerGuyI bought Xbox Game Pass for PC, Microsoft is running promotional $1/for 3 months.

    EA Play is also included. You download their Xbox app from Microsoft Store and there just look for Battlefield 2042 and it recognized that I already had it downloaded. When I pressed launch, it launched EA app (new Origin) and asked me to login to my EA account to link my Microsoft & EA accounts.

    From there it gave me an option to play the game.

    Only 10 hour is included.

    Game runs very poor 40-60 FPS on lowest settings with my RTX 2070 Super.

    Awesome find thanks!  Was there any contract or catch with the Microsoft Game Pass?  Like a yearly agreement after the first 3 months or early cancelation fee?  Thanks again!

    @RandPlayerGuy It auto renews with your attached card or PayPal account in the next 3 months, so it'll auto renew in February so keep that in mind.

    It'll only charge a month ($9.99) not a yearly price.

    Downloaded Back 4 Blood and been playing that instead, super fun and very polished. Downloading Age of Empires 4 too as we speak and just thinking about laying back for 1-2 months until this gets fixed and EA finally decides to let us upgrade to Ultimate.

    Hopefully it gets fixed till January, my bank offers 20% cashback for any video game purchase by then. 🙂
