I think this specialist is going to create a lot of trouble for EA and their forum moderators!

@CyberDyme trolling is also not allowed so keep that in mind! 🤔 But fear not, we'll be able to detect the difference between Specialist discussions and those barred by TOS.

what if they make a near future modern military game that imagines cutting warfare technology 20 years from now?
- @jirikutil @carsono311 I'm with Carsono on this, we don't know how it will fit the overall balance of matches yet. While it may seem like an overpowered ability, I also recall players in past game complaining about soft cover campers and bush wookies, which this gadget and Paik's passive ability both directly counter. I also don't think entire servers of Paiks will be an issue, as many of the Specialists have unique and quite powerful traits. It may very well prove to be overpowered but I'll hold judgement till I've played the game myself.
Side Note: It's not a wall "hack" if it's a built-in feature of the game available to all players. What makes hacking and cheating in general so horrible is that it puts honest gamers at a disadvantage. By adding this feature into the game in some capacity, developers are actually evening the playing field in a way, and no, this does not excuse the developers from taking strong anti-cheat measures. To me, seeing through walls is the same as having a radar / UAV on a FPS. Same advantage IMO. Im sure there is limitations.

You talking about what?
- kregora4 years agoSeasoned Ace@DJPtrak The disadvantage players are put in now, that is to decide what is possible, and what is cheating.
But we need to experience this ability in-game. In BF4 T-UGS atleast beeped while active. I’m concerned about this specialist. I can totally see that class getting abused. I despised heart beat sensors in MW and target finders on Blk Ops.
I hope I’m wrong and it will be balanced out but I can see it being a cheap way of playing.- carsono3114 years agoSeasoned Ace@c-s-t-r-i-n-i-x You are not alone, however there is still a lot we do not know about this Specialist and her Ability. I think we will have to wait and see...
Not really. UAV/Radar does not show you the exact location, you have to search for the target with your aim even when you can see it on the map.
Here it is basically a wall hack. You have the aim to the head before revealing yourself. A big difference!- @DJPtrak I wonder if there's an counter against Paiks' EMG Scanner ability. I do remembered bush wookies from Bad Company 2 days. They're annoying, but players found an way to counter them. I do have concerns about BF2042 in terms of specialist (look at Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 & 4 for examples).
Ah the forum and in general in game mayhem on release will be surely very entertaining. 🙂
Hahah, grab your bucket of popcorn.
- @c-s-t-r-i-n-i-x Easy solution. Dice wants cheese then cheese the living * out the noobs. Its Like Christmas everyday.

If the cooldown is too long, or the pulse fast it will be a problem. Hopeful, maybe has to counter it with other specialist, i really think Rao and Casper or EMP dispositives do this.
- @c-s-t-r-i-n-i-x the counter to this will be dice putting in a system that warns you when you have been spotted or flashed by this hero gadget. Just like other titles.
I've merged the new Ji-Soo thread with the existing one.

- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@c-s-t-r-i-n-i-x I forgot about BF4's target detectors or what ever they were called!

@c-s-t-r-i-n-i-xI forgot about BF4's target detectors or what ever they were called!in BF1, the sniper could paint targets with a red outline. and a perk in BF1 put a red outline over the closest enemy after each headshot iirc.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@trip1ex You are correct I believe, or at least it is very close to what you describe.
- @TheFireOfTitan oh, im not saying its the same thing for most people, but for me its the same. UAV on COD is like god mode for me.
UAV still shows the exact location if you understand and have map knowledge, you just cant see which way they are facing.
There will be limitations to this thing and ways to counter it i presume. - @trip1ex Yes but these abilities actually depended on you actually seeing the target first not revealing their position before you see them. It's more of a spotting mechanic letting your teammates know that you have spotted someone. Totaly different thing.
