Without hearing the line I'd imagine he's saying that killing enemies is his job. The definition of the phrase is "a person or thing that is exploited as a source of regular income".
- @ghos7bear It is indeed, thanks. I've watched it now and I'm going to stick with what I posted above, it makes the most sense to me given the context.

There was also a famous baseball pitcher named Carl Hubbell whose nickname was the Meal Ticket. Maybe Steve is a baseball fan and is proud of his grenade throwing skills. Actually that is more likely than my thinking about it being his 'bread and butter'.
