Re: False positive bans

I bought this game on release and have played it for about 3 weeks when I dropped out the game. I instantly received an email from EA stating my BF2042 now had been permanently banned stating cheating.

I am 62 and have played EA games for many years including the whole Battlefield series and have never cheated in my life and do not condone cheating. EA refuse to provide me with any further details on the ban for me to investigate whether my account has been hacked or whether I have rogue software on my PC. Many forums suggest that the Easy Anti Cheat software used by BF2042 does not like the Corsair ICue software and the ASUS RGB software and will see it as cheating software. The EA customer service support is quite happy to ban my account and just leave it at that. I am not willing to do this for a £45 game that I have hardly played.
I would not recommend any EA game based on this shocking service to a once loyal customer

@fidstang Most if not all of us are banned for no reason. Or at least nothing we know of. They won't tell us anything what so ever... so it all we can do is sit here a speculate on what it might have been.

I've never once used a macro and never once used any form of cheat. Have a farmed bots... sure... not like almost everyone has at one time or another. Have I used 3rd party software to fix a keybinding issue that's broke in the game... yes... is that why I was banned? No clue as they won't tell me.
  • @fidstangYou caught me. I'll give it up now, righteous Champion of Truth. I will tell the whole story...

I woke up, eager to ruin peoples' day. I brushed the snack debris from the night prior out of my beard, and turned on the computer. Before launching the game, I rubbed my hands together and threw in a few fuefuefue's, then promptly flipped the turbo-bot switch on my tower. Upon launching the game, I was thrusted into - you guessed it - Kaleidoscope, and ran for the tallest tower of the lowest pits in Hell. Once there, I looked to the sky, then gazed back down at the battle below me; "Don't be sad... This is just how it works out sometimes," I said, just before I unloaded the full capacity of my PKP-BP onto the helpless below. This has all been a ruse, and it took you to break me. You've done well this day.

I woke up one day and jumped into BF with one thing on my mind... I'm going to get more than 2 or 3 kills this round! I did better than usual and had 8 kills... then I was banned for being too good. The End!

I'm curious, how many of you were NOT running Geforce Experience IE you have an AMD card so there is no uncertainty. If we are going off the theory that something injected/modified/touched the games nono square, The only true common program I seem to see is Geforce Experience.

Personally I used it to see my in game FPS with ALT+R and performance metrics like power draw etc with alt+p as well as used it to record clips of the game.

Curious if anyone who has been false banned is running an AMD GPU. Since we still don't know what is going on here.

  • @VandaLzA I don't use GE, but I do have a Nvidia card. I updated the driver the week of my ban, but I highly doubt that would have anything to do with it.

All I know is I didn't cheat. 193 hours and I've streamed it. Even though it is a false-positive, I did NOT deserve a permanant ban. There are hackers, aimbotters and whatever out there still playing the game and here we are getting PERMA banned for whatever EAC detected.
Zero communication from EA's side as well, been a meme going around them being heartless corporate soup but never experienced it myself before purchasing my $95 Battlefield 2042.
I am losing hope on recovering my account as there have been no messages from any authority. I don't even think they know of this situation anymore. Just a bot handing out perma bans.

Now I know they might not have the manpower to go through everyone but AT LEAST put us in a queue so we can actually have a human interaction & a platform to voice our side of the story.
Or warn us that there's a blabla.exe causing issues? or is dangerous? anything.. is a perma ban out of the blue the best ever solution? Ahh EA why are you the way you are

@thegoodcharles I been screaming up and down the halls that there isn't enough transparency and only being able to have a 1 sided conversation is beyond pathetic.

I'm on Tom Henderson's Discord if anyone wants to jump on.
  • Progress on my ticket complete bs and I'm going to do another ticket Im pretty sure they didn't do a "full investigation" and this is just a bot reply

@MissDemonicTV Yup... same to the word copy/paste response I've gotten. And they try to tell me on phone support they aren't copy/paste. LOL! LIES!

@MissDemonicTV It is the exact same email we ALL received. My second ticket ALSO returned with the same email. Bot knows we sent 2 tickets so it's just going to say "we did two full investigations and now consider this closed" or something like that. I don't fully remember.

    Bots also don't understand we stream the game for 193 hours. If it was a human, they would at least take a look at everything but nothing we can EVER write in those tickets mean anything. Words don't matter. Here is how it works in EA support;

1: You send a ticket but first fill out categories (account - appeal ban)
2: The bot ONLY looks at the category selected , does NOT read our written words
3: If the category is "account - appeal ban" it runs a simple checkup with the data received from EAC WHICH IS FALSE-POSITIVE
4: Since the data itself is false-positively flagged, the bot decides the ban will stay and send you a generic email we ALL received.
5: If you send a second ticket, it just adds those "we did 2 investigation" sentences and reply.

Long story short, absolutely NO human interaction is present in EA Help.

Threw the towel in with the outright useless support... phone and ToS. Charge-back with my bank coming in the morning. Yet another win for EA. LoL!

@CptMoloxieI can totally understand that feeling. That's why I'm going to take my money and buy call of duty vanguard. EA can kiss my big fat white you know what cuz they ain't never getting a penny from me again.

Want to steal people's money, accounts and accuse them of stuff they didn't do without any kind of real ability to defend yourself?

Yeah hard pass on dealing with this company ever again. Bunch of lying * thieves. So along with the $95 they're going to lose when I get my charge back, but also they're losing a 16-year customer.

Boy I sure hope they're proud. Maybe they'll be as proud of that as they are of their 77% negative reviews for this game? LOL
