Re: Failed to start the game (2)

It is definetly EAC (Easy Anti Cheat) and Webroot issue.... I found a good anti virus top rated,  Total AV, so I installed that and uninstalled webroot to see and the game loads right up !! Its on sale for 20 instead of the usual 100  ...  Hopefully something is fixed about this problem soon !!

  • Let us know the result as soon as you can. I disabled Webroot but it did not change anything. War Thunder was still working (It uses Easy Anti Cheat) and Battlefield 2042 still did not work.

  • I will 100% confirm if you have Webroot to completely switch to another Security Suite. I confirmed by just uninstalling Webroot, pc restart, and was able to launch without a single issue. I picked up Bitdefender suite. If there are known issues with Webroot and Easy Anti-cheat, EA and any other game developers should acknowledge that info..

Ah, glad to hear that it's fixed! Yeah, some antivirus software suites can indeed block certain things for games. Making an exclusion or switching to another AV suite normally fixes that issue, if the other steps did not work.

Unfortunately, this does not look to be something with the game, but the AV suite blocking certain aspects of the game.
I would recommend reaching out to the manufacturer of the AV suite to check with them if they will have an update for their software.

    Happy gaming!

  • It is the game because before the 12/08/21 upgrade, the game was working fine. It is like the upgrade developed an incompatibility with some AV that did not exist before the upgrade.. Beside I play WT that uses Easy Anti-Cheat and I don't any problems at all!

There you have it guys - they aren't going to fix what they broke with this current patch.

Might as well ask for a refund because they obviously do not care to fix it.

  • I don't think its on Easy Anti-cheats side that's causing the issue to persist,  Fortnite, Rocket League, and War Thunder all boot with no problems, despite the fact that they all use Easy anti-cheat and I use Webroot. EA seriously needs to stop adding lighter fluid to this dumpster fire.
