2042 (PC, EA App) Dualsense Controller Vibration not Functional

Summarize your bug On the PC version of 2042 through the EA App, the Dualsense (PS5) controller does not vibrate. The vibration setting being turned on or off on the 2042 menu does not change it. I tried emulating an Xbox controller with DS4 Windows but that does not work either. I was able to get a small amount of rumble, maybe 10% of the PS5 version of the game by changing the audio output to the Dualsense's controller speaker, but then you don't get any game audio at all and the rumble is barely noticeable. This happens on BF2042 and Battlefront 2, weirdly enough the vibration works perfect on the PC version of F12022. Please fix Dice :*(
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use EA App and plug in Dualsense controller via USB-A and launch 2042 any game mode. Vibration does not work even if setting is set to on.
What happens when the bug occurs? Vibration does not function on Dualsense controller on PC.
What should be happening instead? Vibration should work when the vibration setting is set to (on).

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Plug in a Dualsense controller via USB-A with the EA App launcher running 2042. Change the audio output to the controller speaker to get a tiny amount of rumble but no game audio. Perhaps it is a bug with the EA launcher.
What happens when the bug occurs? The vibration does not work no matter what device setting is changed on the Dualsense controller.
What should be happening instead? When turning the controller vibration setting to (on) rumble should work.

Battlefield 2042 on PC doesn't officially support the DualSense PS5 controller. Because of that, it's possible that not all features of the DualSense PS5 controller will work if you manage to partially make it work somehow.

Only the Xbox controller is officially supported.

Only the Xbox controller is officially supported.

Man, that's unfortunate. I know some other Frostbite games on PC support the dualsense. I'd love if it got added to the list of known issues, but I imagine it's low on the priority list.
I don't own an Xbox controller. I'll see if I can get the game to recognize it as an Xbox controller via emulation.

Sorry, I haven't. I tried my best to get the EA App to either recognize a steam input or a DS4 Windows Xbox input, to no avail. Even if I have DS4 Windows connected and hiding the PlayStation input in favor of Xbox, it still defaults to a PlayStation input. I think it has to do with the way 2042 is programmed because it almost always forces a Playstation input if it is connected, which will never allow vibration. DICE either needs to add Dualsense support fully or disable it completely, because this part functionality doesn't cut it.
F1 2022 has full Dualsense support through the EA app and Jedi Fallen Order does not. In the case of Fallen Order, I have to use DS4 Windows to emulate the Xbox controller input, but it works perfectly with vibration and everything. 2042 just will not work for me.

Today, I forgot to turn on my controller emulation software (DSX) and noticed that my PS5 remote was detected in game! I confirmed this by going into control settings and seeing that there is a PS remote instead of a Xbox remote.

the controls work as expected. What doesn’t work is haptic feedback. Still no vibrations. Still troubleshooting that part.

Hey guys, I was having exactly the same issue and went through all the procedures the original poster went through. In the end I did manage to get the controller vibrating (not haptic, but basic vibration), and I did that by using DualSenseX rather than DS4 (which is my usual go to Xbox controller emulator), now I can play the game with rumble in the right places. Hope it works for you!

It even continued to show PS controller icons rather than Xbox ones. FYI, I play wired, so can't comment on wireless.
