Re: my game crashes during connecting

Hey, @FZ_ziggy185 can you try a clean boot to see if any programs are messing with Battlefield 2042 and turn off any overlay programs, such as Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂

  • @EA_Atic Hello i've done the things asked and unfortunately nothing seems to work. I have noticed however that origin displays an error message when i restart my computer and ive included an image in the original post along with the DxDiag. Steam also sent a message telling me to install some sort of program which i have yet it still doesnt work. My battlefield 2042 gets to the screen where the satellite just comes on screen during the "connecting to online services" then crashing or freezing still.

please get back to me when you can thank you

@FZ_ziggy185 Hey man , check youre windows health and try again , keep us update !

    SFC - Windows Health Check

Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
Use the following command lines, pressing Enter after each
(make sure you wait till each of the commands is executed properly):

    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    Reboot youre system test game!

    cheers
  • @Rokebo73 Hey dude, i did as you asked and the sfc/scannow did find some errors but said it fixed it, just incase i ran it again. I ran the other commands and restarted my computer after looking through and seeing that it all said it was all good.

However unfortunately when running battlefield it still crashed... But thank you for the help anyways and the scannow command you told me to do probably saved me from something else in the future :P

@FZ_ziggy185  hmmm ok you could uninstall ORIGIN, but arent able to download it anymore !
But if ya got Origin setup as backup, you could use REVO UNINSTALLER to completely remove origin.
Make sure if ya uninstall Origin by Revouninstaller , ya need to use the SCAN (advanced) option in REVO also to find any Origfn registrykeys and folders leftovers, so they will be deleted tro !

try it and give us an update !

  • Just finished and ran battlefield 2042 but it still crashed ☹️. do you recommend doing the same thing with the EA app aswell or would that just not matter? @Rokebo73 If not ill take any other solutions you can thikn of. thank you

@FZ_ziggy185 hmm uninstall all game platforem, dont forget game could be uninstalled also !
And just install the gameplatform you did buy BF2042 at <<-- do not install any other gameplatform , uninstall them with revouninstaller.

After uninstall first reboot system before ya install gameplatform again !
Install them as an administator, also only launch gameplatform as an administartor !

in case you still get errors then try this:
Repair/Install Windows, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, is the most stable method to advance to the latest version, and solves most problems. Tutorial here: https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/fix-windows-10-repair-install

keep us up to date ! Thanks
  • @Rokebo73 sorry for late response but i've narrowed it down to what i believe the issue is. I think that my game is constantly crashing due to the EA app on my computer. the EA app also crashes before i can launch battlefield. Im not entirely sure as when i ran battlefield on origin it still crashed but ill try doing the window reinstallation. If you know why the EA app keeps crashing please do let me know

    Thanks

@FZ_ziggy185 can be all kind of reasons !
corrupted registry ? faulty (ssd) drive? Memory issues ? Faulty Windows 10/11 ?
I cannot tell ya , till we dig in it !!!
But a Fresh and clean Windows Install is the Best option !!!
    😉

    Cheers !
