I do not mind trying a few things to get a game started,(run as admin, installing updated video card drivers etc) but after nearly 30 years of gaming, this is a whole new level of pain....

the sad thing is, it appears LOTS of people are having similar issues.

Same issue here, Zero help from EA in other threads similar to mine (including this one). I used to be able to launch the game but ever since I've re downloaded it nothing works. Shouldn't have to use the "EA app" or "Origin" to launch a game I specifically bought on the superior platform (Steam) especially when the issue seems to be EA app related or Origin related.

i know - i have been fighting this since the beginning

and i cant even get my money back

You mentioned that your game crashes, could I please ask you to include a zip file of any potential files that may have been generated as a post-crash event under the following folder path: \Documents\Battlefield 2042\CrashDumps

Stage 1:

When I purchased the bf2042 under the ORIGIN app - the game loaded the EAC and then crashed back to the desktop - the game actually never loaded, and I have never been able to have a game, I cannot get a refund from EA because it was not purchased from them, and the company I purchased said they will not refund because it is the CD code- JB Hifi Australia

Stage 2:

I receive a message that ORIGIN would be replaced by the new EA app - which I installed, now the game will not even launch the EAC

currently I am at work, but I will check the zip files as soon as I am home, If you have teamspeak - 66.151.138.13:39050     i am on usually about 7pm Australia or 1-4pm Seattle time USA

no, I do not see the same EAC error message as I am not using the old origin app, I am using the latest EA app, which was downloaded not too long ago...maybe 2 weeks.

i finally got into my first game! yaay

WHY TOO MUCH cinematic stuff - THERE IS JUST MILES OF it, its oozing cinematic.....what a waste of developer money  -and then i cannot even escape out of it

i have to say the graphics ARE SUPER HIGH quality - really details...but the game play...so far ...i have not testing

to be honest - it is too much like call of duty.....what happened to the "battlefield" feel of it.... they should have named it "call of battlefield"

well done to the EA team who built it - its just beautiful...but i will wait and see maybe it will grow on me .....

thanks for at least fixing it, but please, i beg you EA, please, sit down and speak with old school battlefield players, they will tell  you what they want from game play

for a brief summary though, they want team work, 6 man squad, 2 people to start a server...more fun....and less "call of duty copy cat"

hi, i have bought the game when it launched day 1. I haven't been able to play because of the black screen on launch. A few weeks ago my liquid cooler was malfunctioning. I had it send for rma. I had installed my old cpu liquid cooler. And to my suprise i was able to play battlefield 2042 for the first time sinds launch more than a year ago! Now i had my broken cpu liquid cooler replaced with a new one. I installed it yesterday and gues what? I can't play bf2042 anymore. Back to the black screen on launch. Very frustrating. The liquid cpu cooler is de corsair h150i

Glad it works! Still having issues on my end. I bought in through steam so I think it'll be a different issue. Thank you for supporting my cause though!

I have the same problem here but it only occurred this week and its very sad I can't play.
