Game won't launch at all
Hi,
I'm having issues with starting the game. When I attempt to launch it from Steam, the EA App flashes a few time with a empty EA login window, then I see my games list on the EA App and then it quits and nothing happens after that. The EA App isn't even launched after that.
When I attempt to start the game from Steam with the EA App already opened it does the same but the EA App stays opened and nothing happens.
Same if I start it from the EA App.
What I've tried/done :
- Updated Windows 10
- Upgraded to/Updated Windows 11
- Nvidia Drivers update
- All component drivers update
- Reinstalling BF 2042
- Reinstalling EA App
- Checked games files on Steam
- Cleared Steam cache
- Disabling every overlay (Discord, Nvidia, EA,...) and every programs (Discord, Nvidia, Riot Vanguard, OneDrive,...)
- Unplugged every USB
- Starting the game from the .exe
- Gave Admin permissions to the .exe
- Disabled fullscreen optimization
- Reinstalling/Updating EAC
- Disabled Gaming mode on Windows
- Changed Power Performance mode on Windows
- Deleted the Battlefield 2042 files in My Documents
- Disabling AntiVirus/Firewall
- Changed DNS
- Killing EA processes
- ...
I basically tried everything I could think of and find online.
I don't have an issue with starting "It Takes Two" EA game from Steam and from the EA App.
The game never even starts, all I can see is the EA App flashing, I never actually see the EAC loading window before the game starts except when I start it from BF2042_launcher.exe.
Is that an issue with the game, do I have to wait for an update ? I can't think of anything I could do except a fresh Windows install.
I haven't played the game for a few months but never had an issue before.
PC Specs :
- Motherboard : Z690 UD DDR4
- Proc : i7-12700k
- GPU : Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080
- 32Gb Ram
Found a solution on another topic that worked for me, hope it helps
Solution 3 by the user "RealZeupiter"
1. turning off game launch as administrator in game files for both 2042.exe and the anticheat. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042\BF2042_launcher.exe & BF2042.exe)
2. Then go into the properties of 2042.exe > Digital Signatures > double clicked on the EA digital signature > View certificate > install certificate and just clicked next so it install on the default settings. do the same thing for the anticheat in the game folder. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042\BF2042_launcher.exe & BF2042.exe)
