Input lag

There is an incredibly high level of input lag. My mouse and keyboard commands are delayed by 15 seconds. It's impossible to play the game. I haven't experienced this kind of problem with any other game. The system has 32 GB of DDR5 4800 MHz RAM, an Intel i5 12400f, and an Nvidia 4060 RTX. What is the solution?

    1. When did it started?
    2. Do you have any new hardware? (mouse, keyboard, monitor etc)
    3. Do you have any new apps in your pc?
    4. Have you had any software updates around that time when Input lag started?
    5. Have you changed any game settings from in-game console or manually with text editor?

As extra I recommend to perform clean installation on your graphics driver and disable automatic updates from Nvidia app. Download and install Nvidia driver version 566.36

  • ALSO ......................... where and how are you connected, who else is connected, what region are you in, what region are you trying to connect to, what is running in the background (and do not rely on the "task Manager") . Try SHIFT > ESCAPE to open the browser manager.

If, as you say, your mouse and keyboard commands are delayed 15 SECONDS, then that is dial up speed (remember that ?), maybe you are not getting the speeds that you should be getting from your ISP. Try a speed test:

Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test                     This is the one I use. Let us know how you go.

That's highly unlikely that Internet can cause 15sec delay on input.

    Thank you for your response.

I installed Battlefield 2042 on my computer for the first time and encountered this issue on my first attempt.

I have been using my mouse, keyboard, monitor, and other hardware for 6-7 months without encountering any issues with other AAA games. I have not updated any applications or installed any new applications.

I am trying to connect from Turkey.

My network speed is also sufficient, averaging 50 Mbps.

To resolve the issue, I tried running the game in DX 11 mode, but it did not help.

That network speed is more then enough.

Can you list here which keyboard, mouse and monitor you are using? Also software for keyboard and mouse if you use any.

    Things to try:

    • Disable mouse acceleration in Windows (Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options)
    • Unplug other peripherals (e.g., fightsticks, extra controllers) that may interfere with inputs.
    • Test with a different mouse/keyboard: Rule out hardware issues.
    • Ensure your monitor’s refresh rate matches the game’s FPS settings (e.g., 144Hz display with 120+ FPS) .
    • Ensure your CPU isn’t pegged at 100% usage, which can delay inputs .
    • Delete the Cache folder in Documents/Battlefield 2042.
    • Disable overlays for both Steam and EA/Origin, as they can conflict and increase latency .
    • Install and download driver version 566.36 for your GPU.
    • Enable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows settings
    • Make sure your Windows is updated.
