Re: TDM no longer backfills with AI since 6.1

Hi @ATFGunr, it looks like from the beginning onwards reports were about the official servers and Portal creations, hence why it's likely the case that both experiences are discussed in this thread regarding the AI spawning issue.

Regarding the AI spawning issue in TDM: the teams have tried to replicate the issue on official TDM servers, and Portal experiences for that matter, but they aren't able to replicate the issue anymore and AI is spawning.

When you play TDM on the official servers, so no Portal, could you open the scoreboard and check if you see how the teams are balanced and maybe add a screenshot to a (new) post?

    @EA_Leeuw That’s a negative on screen shots. Couldn’t get it to work, neither could a buddy. The other issue for PC is its default is Alt to show the scoreboard, throw in Win key and print screen and you get nothing 😉 Anyways, it always shows 4 bots on one side, and 0 on the other. Players can also be on either side, but 1 side will have 4 bots and the other zero. This was typical both prior to, and after, the last update.

    Hi @ATFGunr,

    That screenshot is very, very low resolution. Would it perhaps be possible to get the full video? Via YouTube or Streamable for example?

    These are the maps that I had the issue with in the Official TDM mode prior to the 6.4.0 update :
    Breakaway
    Reclaimed
    Redacted
    Battle of the Bulge
    Flashpoint

    I am glad to report that all of the above 5 maps are working correctly now for me (PC - EU Region) 👍

    Note :  I notice that the Discarded Map is not working correctly now (it previously was ok for me) :

    No bots spawned  / showed on the US Team

    4 Bots showed on the Russian side but never spawned 

    I haven't tested :

    Spearhead

    Exposure

    Renewal

    Kaleidoscope

    I would appreciate if you could pass this information on to the team with a view to them fixing Discarded in the next update, thanks. 👍

    @RayD_O1 Remember, it’s Discarded and Hourglass that don’t populate. It’s odd to be happy that we got more maps working than before, but again as I’ve said, I set a low bar now. The biggest downside is if you’ve got a good group going we all have to quit if we want it to fill and not everyone gets into the same map next time. Hard to build a community of gamers like this.

    Yeah very disruptive when it occurs. ☹️

    I hadn't been playing the Official TDM for a while but had a run through most of the the maps yesterday to check them out.

    Hourglass was the last map I tried yesterday and it was mostly populated with humans by then, but i thought I noticed some AI spawned so I assumed it was ok, I need to try Hourglass again then. 👍

    It would be good to have this issue resolved asap so we can play through the complete map rotation without interruptions.

    After playing Hourglass again I noticed that although some AI appeared on the Scoreboard they never spawned.

    Played the other remaining maps that I didn't get to see yesterday and they were all ok.

    So it's the same 2 maps that are causing the problem for me on EU - PC servers as those reported by @ATFGunr in his region.

    It would be good to get Discarded and Hourglass sorted in the next update.

    @RayD_O1 That’s always been a side effect, 4 bots will be listed but never spawn. When real people join, it defaults them to the other team until it has 4 also, resulting in a really awful balance for the real people who play, they’ll always be down a whole squad. It’s why I’ve been botching about it for 6 months…. 😁

    Yeah I noticed that it works that way, I have often fallen victim to that unbalanced scenario, totally ruins so many rounds.

    I just mentioned it to help explain why I mistakenly thought that bots where spawning in Hourglass.

    Something else that has happened to me several times on the Official TDM matches, the game freezes as it starts to load the round, usually on 22 seconds to deploy.

    Has that happened to you ?.

    Noticed yesterday that the recently added Haven is another map that doesn't populate. ☹️
