Re: Highest CPU Utilization yet since launch

@apheli0n_x Thread.ProcessorCount 6
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 4
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
Thread.JobThreadPriority 0
GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 12

Tried this to cap out CPU proc, but not sure if it works on a 6/12 w/ max 4 cpu cores allotted.

Also seen some benefit now with utilizing Process Lasso w/ their ProBalance enabled. Actually playable (though it still is high cpu).

    I’m running 16 cores, not sure if i need to tweak the above based on that. I just don’t get how this can be so CPU heavy while my GPU is barely pushing 20% load… i just don’t want to risk new hardware hitting high cpu usage even if my pc can cool it just doesn’t seem right to me.

    Thanks for the feedback i’ll give it a shot and let you know if it works for me.

    @onCruiseCTRL Looks like I was not saving the .CFG file properly which is why this didn't have any effect earlier. I seem to be maxing out at around 50% CPU load at 2k @ 120hz. I can swing 165 but if it's stable I can live with the loss of quality and refresh rate if it means being able to play the game since Medium isn't that bad. thanks for the input above, I will give it a shot and report back to see if the game stays stable or if it spike to 90-100% again. Cheers.

    @kikolarryio Sure no problem, you need to determine how many cores your CPU has first because that will determine your core and there’s count in the text that goes into the document. I opened a new text file in my desktop, added the strong above from @onCruiseCTRL @and saved it as ALL FILES type. This was my issue the first time if you save it as a text or .txt it does not read it properly as a configuration file. Please note that for me, this reset all my settings in game as i assume it’s overriding the existing on to be wary.

    After creating the user.cfg with the above I dropped it into the main battlefield directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042 or if you’re non steam C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2042.

    After this step I opened my hardware monitor (for me i used L-connect) and task manager and launched the game. I noticed I still had spikes in CPU% but it never exceeded 65% and stayed as low as 35% during a match. I did notice that my CPU temp did tend to be around the higher end still I was average 71°C and peaked at 82°C which for my CPU isn’t bad but still not anywhere i’d like to be while gaming.

    Hopefully the above helps, if you have any other questions let me know i’ll do my best to assist.
