With the latest patch, the cache folder is still in my Documents, onedrive.
Also have this issue. OneDrive got filled up with a 1GB+ BF2042 folder and stopped me receiving emails.
Unselecting the folder as per advice in post #10 doesn't work as this removes the folder from the PC but not OneDrive.
EA just HAS to move this folder out of My Docs. This is a standard area for users personal files and makes total sense for OneDrive to backup... not the place for a cache folder.
The normal place for these sorts of folders is C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\BF2042\Cache
Surely it's not that hard to change this EA... For now I just have to remember to delete the folder after every play session

There is a "workaround" for this issue, but ya need to do some changes in "policy" settings.
This requires some time and skills to change it.All the info here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/use-group-policy
Change deafault onedrive location here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/use-group-policy#set-the-default-location-for-the-onedrive-folderExclude certain file types from synch here:
Block file downloads when users are low on disk space
And a lot more to change by "Policies"
It will take some time, always make a backup from files so you dont loose them !!!!
Cheers people !ps ya need to run gpedit.msc as admin
Or make a 2nd windows account at youre system , only for gaming , no one-drive and other unneeded/unwanted software active !!!
Sorry but the advice above either shouldn't be needed (moving OneDrive away from My Docs, which OneDrive SHOULD be syncing to the cloud) or plain wrong (Blocking file downloads only works the OTHER way, so if you are low on disk space it won't download from OneDrive. This issue is the opposite where we are running out of space in OneDrive and this setting won't stop this.
The one good piece of advice is to block certain file types from being uploading/Synced. It seems that the main bulk of the files are .PcDx12 files, blocking this from uploading might be a workaround.
Just to say though, Group Policy editor is only available in Windows Pro and not Windows Home (AFAIK) so if you don't have Pro you will need to use a 3rd party tool or edit the registry direct. Also if you do have Pro you need to copy the .ADMX and .ADML files from the OneDrive install location to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions before the settings above are ACTUALLY available.
These are NOT settings for the faint hearted and a general user shouldn't be playing with them NOR SHOULD THEY NEED TO as EA should be saving these cache files in %localappdata%
- Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace@Dougiebabe Or ya could use a 3rd party tool , look a like onedrive.
, only with more control about folders/files and clouds to synch !!
onedrive is much complain about (at all kinds of websites) about this issue , documents folder and not able to exclude stuff from inside onedrive - Rokebo732 years agoSeasoned Ace@Dougiebabe ya could use group policies in any windows 10/11 version.
There are tools/instructions to enable/activaye gpedit.msc !! (winaero twaeker i believe is one of them)
Cheers
