Can't assign a button for the scope

At 76 I'm finding it hard to stay alive long enough to complete the first objective (Reach the tower). For a start I can't find a button that lets me look down the scope and stay like that until I switch it back again. I can toggle it by holding R/Ctrl but then that hand is out of use in case I have to move in any direction (usually to get out of the way of grenades thrown by the enermy). I'm playing this on a PC by the way.

So is there a way to keep looking down the scope and what button is associated with it?

Another anoying thing about this game is your handed a HUD as you approach the constuction site which your supposed to use to direct any help from the chopper, but there isn't any way of alerting the pilot.. While you hold 'Q' you can see through the HUD, but whatever button I press the chopper pilot repeats over and over 'Ready to engage' 'Give me a target' but nothing happens. What should I be doing here?

I know its 2 questions and not 1, but these 2 things are keeping me alive at present, but I do want to move forward towards the tower and get to the next level.

Thanks a lot lads.

Fabian.

  • @Fabian_Pruitt   Which Battlefield game are you playing?  For Battlefield V, you will find that setting under “Controls -> Basic -> Soldier Weapon Zoom -> Toggle”

Please reference the included screenshot, but please ignore the red outline… the entry you want is directly above that:

  • Actually I'm on Battlefield 4.

But I have since found a reference to the scope button in this version. In  'Option' Gameplay, Steady Scope, the top one-Weapon Zoom was set at Hold Button and I changed it to Click Button. So now I click the right mouse button and I'm looking through the scope without holding any button which allows me to move in either direction to avoid grenades with my right hand (I'm left handed).

Its a small thing I know in such a large game, but I'm happy I sorted it out. A lot happier than bowing to Origin every time I want to play the game. I bought Battlefield 4 when it was first released, The disc is on my shelf and yet I've got to go through the rigmarole of signing up to origin and then waiting while the game is downloaded to my desktop. Lunacy.

Anyway thanks a lot for replying and putting up the capture. When I buy Battlefield 5 from origin I'll be able to refer back here if I need too.

    Best of luck.

    Fabian.

  • Thanks a lot carsono311

It had to be there somewhere. Its a lot of tweeking before you begin playing these games and Battlefield 4 is my first so a long way to go.

    Best of luck.
