Re: What do the different Server names mean?
@1stprivate Over the years they've meant different things.
The economies are generally all the same.
Currently Tiberium worlds are started at 12 noon European central time, UTC+1 or in the sumer UTC+2
Firestorm worlds are now used for special worlds with strange settings such as extra lakes or sparse POI's
Wrath worlds generally start around 4pm European central time to cater for those in the Americas, USA, Canada and the various central and south American countries.
Any one of the worlds can have forgotten attacks or morale settings, Firestorm is probably the only one that would have no forgotten attacks or morale setting used, or both forgotten attack and morale settings.
Also in the mix are three other worlds,
Veteran Servers which are entirely different in that they don't have a fortress and have many more hubs. They last for a limited season before a winner is declared.
World Championship servers are for players who have won worlds in the past (have a medal). Veteran worlds and World Championship Servers alternate one per year. 2023 was a WCS year (it started in December so the current WCS is labelled WCS 2023).
Finally there is the PTE. This world is very different to other worlds in that it is wiped and progress set back to the beginning. The devlopers use this world to test out patches, upgrades or other changes to regular worlds (Tib, Wrath, Firestorm, Vet and WCS) and older worlds before they are rolled out to try to reduce the problems that can occur. The do test the changes internally, but that can give different results to 400 people testing (the approximate number that sign into the PTE). There have been a number of PTE's in the past, but the developers have settled on one at present. The PTE differes in other ways too. When testing is required they 'encourage' no wars or PvP as it can interfere with the testing that is needed (except when it is PvP changes that need testing). They currently have one 'cheat' available and this has been available for a number of years. The cheat is a movement cooldown reset allowing free movement around the world in neutral or alliance territory. The size of movement is still restricted as normal but the cooldown reset means that you can move from the N sector to the S sector with a lot of steps, but no waiting hours or days.
